Hey everyone, I am here to introduce myself as I hope to get to know some more of you! I am 29 and have 3 kids. When I had my first, my dad had died and I promised I would get better for them. So I lost a ton of weight, and I was proud I did it "the right way". I had learned how to eat right and exercise well, and that still has carried over but I put alot of that weight back on with my recent kid. I decided that this time around maybe I would feel more motivated if I found a group of people that knew more than just exercising and calories. I am a novice, so I reached out to my doctor and got my bloodwork done, but quickly found out that I needed to learn alot more about this world before diving in headfirst so that led me here! I look forward to learning as much as I can and meeting some wonderful people along the way!

Thank you much! I started at 400lbs and dropped 125 of that, but put about 100 back on so I guess in a way im still net positive but thats so hard on a body and I want to make sure I keep it off this time haha

Sometimes I feel like “thank god for my kids, because if they weren’t here I don’t know how motivated I would ever be to get right with my health”. That’s kind of sad now that I say that but hey, whatever helps to get us to a better place right?

Welcome! Theres lots to learn. I seem to find myself down a different rabbit hole every week! lol also know, there isn’t a wrong way to make yourself healthy! Some people need these meds because their body doesn’t just naturally do it. I was borderline diabetic with insulin resistance when I started. I had been in the gym, eating right and only lost 15lbs then stalled. Finally asked my doctor for the meds and been on them since! Unfortunately they will be a life long thing for me. But I had to turn grey because my insurance decided they knew better than my doc.

My condolences! 💐

However it’s awesome that you have 3 kids at 29, people in our generation is deathly afraid of having children and it’s a shame. That’s what we’re here for!

Unfortunately I’m a part of the group that’s afraid (I’m 27). I hope to shake the nerves soon! I’d love to create my own best friends!

Best of luck to you and your weight loss goals!

You got this! We got this! 🥂

We have 5 kids, sounds like our journeys are similar… I went through all kinds of diets and exercise, finally decided I needed that extra edge… losing steadily week by week with Reta now.

Welcome to the forum! Good luck with your journey and congrats on the 3 little ones!

Theyre a double edged sword, the pros outweigh the cons but they can be knuckleheads and they certainly make you sacrifice alot of your personal hobbies while they are young. I dont have alot of time to go to the gym during the day or else I have to sacrifice time that I should be spending with them, ill be darned if I be an absent dad just because I dont want to go to the gym at night.or early AM haha I appreciate the kind words though, I will be hoping for your success in the future as well!
