Hi everyone, Chris here — 52 years old, living in Spennymoor in the UK.
I've just signed up to the forum. The reason is that I was diagnosed with heart failure, and that diagnosis gave me a serious wake-up call about taking care of myself and getting my weight sorted out.
Gym training has been part of my life for basically all of my adult years — I first started at 14, and these days I'm still typically there 5–7 days a week. Over the years I've been through a fair few bodybuilding experiences, anabolic steroids included, and right now I'm following a TRT protocol, so staying active and training have always mattered a great deal to me.
Food has been one of my problem areas, especially in the evenings. The medication I take for bipolar disorder brings on some really brutal nighttime cravings along with a lot of "food noise", which means that even with all the hard training, keeping my weight in check hasn't been the simple thing you might assume.
I've begun using retatrutide fairly recently. My initial aim was to shift some weight and, ideally, to get some grip on the non-stop thoughts about food. This whole area is still quite new to me, so I'm here to pick things up from those with more experience of GLP-1 medications, weight loss and all that goes with it. What I'd especially like to hear is how things have gone for other people — what's worked, what hasn't, and how they've made changes they can actually sustain instead of just fixating on the number on the scales.
Away from all that: I'm married, and I have a 14-year-old son called CJ. We've also just got a new kitten, Fen. His full name was meant to be Fenrir. We knew Fenrir was a giant wolf from mythology, but we figured we were being clever by naming our tiny kitten after something supposedly powerful enough to help bring about the end of the world.
Only a few days after we named him did we realise our rather clever choice had one small problem… Fenrir is, in fact, a wolf. So we'd basically named our kitten after a giant wolf instead of a giant cat.

So that's me. I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone, learning as much as I can and hopefully adding something useful along the way. Thanks for having me!
