50 year old male, based in Ireland.

After shedding 22kg through diet and exercise, progress stalled, yet another 12 to 15kg still needed to come off. My GP put me on mounjaro, which worked initially, but its effects faded fast—even as the dose was increased—and across 6 months I only dropped a bit over 6kg. There's still 6 to 8kg left to lose.

On top of that, I lift 3 times a week, hit 19k steps every day, and keep an eye on what I eat and my protein intake.

I've begun low dose Test (70mg SQ once weekly) through a local trt clinic, which is helping, but I'm seriously thinking about adding Reta and maybe 2I U HGH daily.

A bit more background.

Right now I'm 106kg and 188cm.

During a routine yearly check-up a few years back, they found my T4 was a little elevated and my TSH was on the low side, so methimazole was prescribed.. the side effects were awful, I was constantly irritable, had no patience at all, couldn't sleep... it was terrible, so I switched to PTU..

Most of those side effects cleared up, but my weight began climbing.. I was told it would level off, yet I went 110kg, 120kg 130kg..

I hired a trainer and a nutritionist and got to work. After 12 months of serious effort I was down to 104kg Then I began having spells where T4 would spike very high, the dose would be adjusted and then it would crash.

Radioactive Iodine was suggested by the endocrinologist. A small dose.. HUGE error. My levels went haywire.. I had severe muscle pain in my legs, chest and eventually my back. T4 was through the roof, I dropped 5kg (mostly muscle) in a single week. It felt like the muscle was consuming itself, the pain was intense. I had to stay out of the gym for several months. My GP handled it.. weekly level checks, PTU dose tweaks and waiting for the levels to crash (which they finally did, I was moved from PTU to eltroxin, and spent months dialling in the dose as my thyroid adapted to the post-radiation situation but I got back to the gym with lighter sessions though I kept going.. Eventually things stabilised, but my weight had climbed back to 112kg..

Fine.... I got my nutrition locked in again, rebuilt my gym routine, lifting 3 to 4 times per week, 10 to 15k steps daily and returned to work..

My weight wouldn't shift at all, parked between 110 and 112kg.. nothing I tried would make it move.. Both the Endo and GP suggested Mounjaro so I began it..

2.5mg first week fine, a bit of constipation, lost .5kg 2nd week mild nausea the day after injecting, no food noise, hunger was gone, dropped 1.2kg, week 3 food noise returned, no weight loss, week 4 I regained 1kg.

Dose was raised to 5mg, slight effect week 1, nothing week 2

7.5 was the same but at 10mg it appeared to work, first month I lost 4kg, no food noise so I stayed on it for a 2nd month by week 6 the effect had vanished, during the 2nd month I put on 1.8kg.

Dose raised to 12.5 mg.. week 1 good week 2 .....

26 weeks on mounjaro down 5.6kg.... thousands of Euro, non-stop constipation for 5.6kg.. so I quit...

Blood work came back excellent, everything was spot on apart from testosterone being slightly low so I was put on a low dose (70mg once a week SQ) which definitely improved how I felt overall, and I believe it helped steady my weight but I'm still at 106kg

So here I am....

That's awesome! 70mg isn't a big dose at all. Do you get bloodwork done?

For 2 weeks now I've been on HGH, the genuine pharmacy stuff, though I'm considering sourcing it from China instead.

All good so far. Did 5days at 1IE, then 5days at 1,5IE, and currently IE. My blood sugar has stayed steady and I dropped 4 pounds. My eating habits have shifted too, though.

TRT comes from a proper clinic, so there were 2 rounds of blood tests before the script, and testing continues every 3 months..

My goal is simply to reach the normal range again (or the upper 50% of normal); it is being monitored and the dose may possibly increase..

As for HGH, Im considering 2IU per day, purely for recovery and health benefits..

Becoming a body builder is not what Im after..
