Hello from the US, specifically subtropical Florida. I'm new to this community, though GLP1s are old news for me - my Sema journey began 2 yrs back.

I lose weight slowly (and no, that isn't me being down on myself, lol): 55lbs down, with 10-15 more to shed. The change in my life is massive - food no longer has any 'pull' over my mind. It's wild that I just don't care about it now, and I've figured out how to manage my intake (which is also huge given that I'm a recovering bulimic!).

Postmenopausal symptoms have been my toughest obstacle - they came roaring back when a surgery forced me to reduce my glp dose... hormonally, everything went haywire!! Getting those levels and symptoms back in check took a year, and I'm not sure how I'll ever reach maintenance dosing, though I bet someone here has gone through the same thing and I'll look into it down the road.

I stumbled on this board just yesterday while googling for better lab pricing. Found some great info and even a promo code, so I'm genuinely excited to give back and contribute however I can.

Hello and welcome! Menopause challenges are something I'm dealing with too, so I get where you're coming from. Give the sunshine a greeting from me! (Here in the cloudy midwest, that's what I'm doing.)

From up in northern Russia, I smiled a bit when I came across the bit about the cloudy Midwest.)

Oh, I only just noticed your response. Today it's 85F deg in this area, though there's some cloud cover. At last we're seeing scattered rainshowers; a state of emergency had been declared bc of drought. My cactus and succulents are happy!

Did this year bring you a lot of snow?

There's just so much snow! I'm chalking up my slowness at losing weight to the chill and the dreariness (been on Tirz for 2 months).

Oh wow. Yeah, that definitely brings you down! Although, this month marks 2 yrs of me being on Sema, and my weight hasn't budged for 6 months... while surrounded by warm sunshine. It's anyone's guess why our bodies do what they do.

When you think about it, 2 months is really no time at all. My take is this - next to all those years I carried extra weight, this is nothing! On top of that, losing slowly is a good thing. It's gentler on digestion, skin, hormones, all of it will be grateful, and it's waaaay more sustainable over time so you can keep it off. What I've realized is that this is meant to be a permanent lifestyle shift.

I hope things heat up for you soon! 🌞
