Hey there - I'm in my late 40s, so middle aged, and my GLP-1 ride has been wild for roughly 4 years. Insulin resistance, Hashimotos, plus perimenopause and a binge eating disorder on top of it all! May God help everyone who has to deal with me!
Around 2022 I got a Mounjaro prescription going, using that Eli Lily coupon everyone talked about, until the diabetes requirement kicked in. After that I went to my insurance, but no luck - they said I'd already dropped 50 lbs., and based on my weight and blood work I no longer qualified. WTF?
So I went "researching" in FB groups and came across a telehealth doctor who partnered with compounding pharmacies. I stayed with that for a while, but it cost a fortune and whatever I was getting stopped feeling effective. Maybe all those additives meant to dodge FDA fallback?? No clue! I got fed up and the weight started creeping back....
Next I gave the online research companies a shot - experimented with a few other peptides, and hopped between Sema and Tirz (plus others) hunting for that one magic answer that would silence the food noise. Not long ago I moved to Reta and landed on a dose that genuinely works for me. It's been incredible, though I suspect I'm overpaying...or at least I know a cheaper route exists...
I'd heard the myths about forums and online groups stuffed with info on all this - so I went looking and here you all are! Can't wait to learn more!
