Hello everyone!

I'm in Scandinavia. I just turned 34. For the majority of my life I've carried extra weight, and it's been a constant battle.

Back 12 years ago, I was on Biggest Loser in Scandinavia. In only 6 months I dropped from 160kg down to 90kg. That was the first occasion I truly succeeded at shedding weight and getting to a "normal" weight.

Now, 12 years later, I'm back at that same weight. I reached 180 at one point, then came back down to 160, and I've stayed at 160 for 3 years.

I believe I badly damaged my metabolism during that TV Show. Once it ended, I'd gain 100gram here and there, and for years I bounced around even though I stuck to my meal plan and hit the gym 6-7 times weekly.

I've given both wegovy and mounjaro a try. They do help me with food noise and make me less hungry, but even while trying to stick to my meal plan and go to the gym, I feel like I can't drop weight.

Lately I've been reading a lot about retatrutide, and I'm looking into ways to obtain it here in Scandinavia. A mounjaro pen runs 600$ per month, and with a family and kid now, paying that is no longer possible for me.

I think retatrutide is what I need to boost my energy burning.

Looking back at the TV show today, I think I'd still have done it, but I feel I've been trying even more diet plans and stuff after the show than before.

And doing cardio 6-8 hours a day and eat 800 calories is not possible to maintain 🙁

Hopefully I can research more about retatrutide here at this forum, and hopefully connect with some nice people!

welcome! that show was a favorite of mine. I bet it led to plenty of burnout habits. Hope you discover what you're after. I'm 3 weeks into Reta and the food noise that used to run my life has disappeared. I feel great. I hope you get the same result.

Glad you're here! This site has plenty of helpful stuff! Hats off to you for handling that sort of weight loss show. Not something I could do! I'd be in tears constantly whenever they shouted at me or I got super hungry, lol

best of luck! what a road you've traveled up to now. reta is the only GLP1 i've used (and i'll give tirz a go for maintenance since i'm nearly at my goal weigth), so i've got nothing to add, but i truly hope reta treats you just as smoothly as it did in my case.

Welcome aboard! Mj took care of food noise that I hadn't even realized was there, but after that I had trouble eating enough and reaching my goals, and on top of that the price kept me from staying on it. I'm interested in giving reta a shot as well!

Congrats on making it through that show — I've seen and read plenty about the toll it takes on people 😣

Appreciate all the warm welcomes!

Over here in Scandinavia, the format of that show meant you remained at the camp right up until the moment they eliminated you. After that, you were on your own — a personal trainer at a nearby gym plus a nutrition specialist guiding you — and then everyone reunited for the finale. I finished in 2th place, having been sent home only 3 weeks in, which meant I handled nearly 6 months of the whole process solo with my trainer.

I left my job to go on that show, so it was a one-time shot.

In hindsight, sure, plenty about it was good, but there's also a lot of garbage I've had to work through since it ended.

When I step on the scale, part of my brain still expects to drop 2-5kg each week.

My body composition isn't what it was, though, so these days when I'm big, I'm not THAT big — but still quite big. Even so, I can move heavy weights and do 30 mins on a 15% incline without issue!

Fingers crossed reta is what finally sorts this out.

I've put off surgery for years since I believe I can manage it on my own, but hope is starting to fade 🙁
