Hello there. Male, 36 years old.

So here’s how my GLP story goes….

During 2020/2021, I had been someone who stayed active for basically my entire life, but I let things slide and my weight climbed all the way to 320lbs. That’s when my original primary doctor began handing me samples of Saxenda, later switching to Wegovy. I stuck with that for roughly 9 months, moving up through the dosing schedule until I reached the maximum dose. Throughout the whole period I noticed nothing at all…. There were no side effects and no positive effects either. I doubt I dropped even a single pound…

Afterward I managed to shed some weight on my own, but then, as has happened before, I went overboard with intense workouts and tracking every macro until by March of 2025 I had reached about 375lbs.

A different doctor then asked whether GLP-1’s were something I’d consider. I told her I’d already given them a shot and they hadn’t worked. Her recommendation was to try tirz. So in April of 2025 I began Tirz. This time I could feel it. I increased the dose gradually, only moving up when necessary. At this point I’ve lost 85lbs and weigh 290lbs. I’m feeling really good. I do weight training and cardio. My eating is well balanced. I take in over 200 grams of protein daily. Carbs stay under 100g.

However…. I’ve reached the 15mg dose of tirz and I inject once every 7 days. It seems to me that it’s not as strong as before. I still have another 90lbs to lose, and I’m worried it might quit working altogether.

I’ve begun researching a switch to reta. Still, before going that route I figure I’ll try injecting every 6 days for a while, and if that loses effectiveness I’ll move to every 5 days….

I’m not sure…. I’d welcome other people’s experiences or advice. I hope this is okay as an intro post. I’m here to learn more, since it looks like there’s more freedom to speak openly here compared to the tirz and reta subreddits.

At 15mg of mounjaro, I’ve also run into what feels like a wall. My hope is that Reta will be the game changer I’m after.

Have re-feed days come into the picture for you at all? For me, a plateau tends to show up when I've pushed the cut too hard. Moving toward low fat, with 200g protein and 300 carbs (quality carbs), can occasionally nudge the body back to where it ought to be. I've also found that a low-fat, higher-carb approach leaves me feeling better, though I'm on Reta at the moment too. Occasionally even a full week can turn things around.
