Hey everyone! I think I signed up while things were briefly offline a few days ago, so I figured I'd swing back around and say hello again. Over the years I've tried plenty of weight loss programs, and through sheer willpower I managed to shed pounds more than once...but...honestly, it was wearing me down. Once I gave glp-1's a shot...everything shifted for me! It let me drop the excess weight in a far healthier manner, since I could follow a solid, nutritious way of eating minus the never-ending worry about every single calorie, and that genuinely made it easier to choose well when it came to food. My blood pressure has gone down, I've had enough energy to head out and do so many of the things I used to only dream about...and I feel...Happy! Looking forward to getting to know more of you and hearing about your journeys.

Beyond that, I'm a painter, a massive dog person, someone who gardens, a beach bum and a boater...who lands a fish every now and then. Happy to be part of this.

Welcome. It's great to meet you. I'm happy that you're having a good time with this journey. I am too.

For me, the most interesting thing has been the way the GLP-1 is shifting what I choose to eat. When I eat dirty, I feel dirty, and the opposite is also true. Has something like that happened for you?

Hey Flapjacks! Great to meet you as well 😁

Up to now I've kept things pretty clean...when I'm doing good, I do really good, and when I decide to be bad, I'm really bad. This got me back on track and makes staying on the 'right track' way easier. Sugar is my downfall...and so far I've only slipped once, just a bite of key lime pie. I'm afraid to eat things like a slice of pizza...worried those fats might wreck my gut. How long have you been on a glp-1? , and how have you done so far?

In my own case, the amount I eat seems to be the sole thing that makes a difference. Overeating leads to trouble. Eating a lot right before sleep means the following day is miserable lol. Still, I've figured it out. These days I inject every 3.5 days, and that has made a difference.

A handful of occasions I've moved my shot up by a day or so...by day 5 I'm digging through the pantry...though honestly my body likely requires those extra calories. My aim is to stick with a weekly schedule, yet at the moment 6 days appears to be what suits me best.

Hey Revak, I appreciate the response. Sorry it took me so long to write back—life's been hectic.

It's been roughly 2 months since I started. My eating habits are far from perfect, so I've experimented with various approaches. Beef is the one food I absolutely can't handle; my stomach simply doesn't break it down fast enough. The Peps have mainly assisted with controlling portions as I work on improving my diet.

Oh, and key lime pie always makes me think of Florida.

Absolutely! This right here! I split my dose into several smaller ones across the week. That way, I feel I have a better handle on whatever side effects might come up.

On top of that, there are just foods I can't eat because they leave me feeling awful. I figure it's partly because my gut could use some support. I'm planning to give klow and probiotics a try for that.

I'm in the same boat. Day 6 was today. Last night I was incredibly hungry! That level of hunger hadn't hit me since the beginning of this journey, when I started with Semaglutide in November. At least the food choices I made were healthy ones. Rather than waiting for tomorrow, I chose to pin today and see what happens. Currently on Reta. My first vial is just done.

Beef doesn't sit well with me either, I have to say. Digestion takes forever with it...definitely not worth the trouble! A friend dropped 40 lbs. using trizepatide, which convinced me to give the compounded version a shot. My approach is high protein and low carb (for the most part...when I stay on track, I do really well! Though a single sugary bite can trigger weeks of bad eating habits for me.) Since I hardly ever have beef, avoiding it isn't hard. Over the years I've shed 80 lbs, 60 lbs...no fewer than 4 separate times...putting it back on...taking it off again...frankly, I'm fed up with that cycle. Years ago I tried Phen-Fen prior to it being pulled from the market, and among everything I'd used, it came closest to the glp1's in terms of actually making a real difference. Giving myself B12 shots was already routine for me...so none of this has been difficult. At this point I'm down 25 lbs...just a little more left to lose. This time, the glp1 stopped me from regaining those dreadful 60-80 lbs. I've also tried out several other peptides, and I'm still doing so...honestly, they're quite impressive! Medications aren't really my thing...but peptides? I genuinely have faith in what they can do. Oh...and for the first time ever, I had a bite of something sugary (key lime pie 🤭)...without needing to struggle to regain control over my eating...not once! How much weight have you managed to lose over these past 4 months? And honestly, eating clean and feeling in control is a good feeling, isn't it!

It didn't take long to realize...bigger servings leave me feeling stuffed like I swallowed bricks...right away, plus the following morning 🤭, and snacking late at night used to be my weakness...now I'm completely avoiding it since starting this. If I want something, I'll take a protein supplement shortly after dinner, but those late-night sugar cravings are gone. What a relief...it accumulates fast. Loading up on chicken, fish and salads means there's no space left for junk. My upcoming aim is to begin using weights much more consistently. Initially I felt somewhat more tired, but that's over...so now it's time to get serious.

Tirz is what I'm on...yet Reta is something I'm seriously thinking about switching to. Seeing folks mention losing interest in things, and others saying their appetite feels less managed, makes me somewhat uneasy. It worked out okay for you?

Absolutely, strength training has made a massive difference for me. When I'm moving heavy weights, the number on the scale barely budges, but I figure that's either muscle gain or genuine fat loss—my outfits keep getting roomier even when the scale won't cooperate. Honestly, I gauge my progress mostly by how my belt fits and how my clothes feel lol

Yep...the jeans tell the truth! I've got to hit up Play it Again Sam's for some secondhand equipment. My son handed down weights and hand weights to me...though the machines are what I really enjoy. You might just have talked me into returning to the gym near my house. I was holding off until the post-New Year's rush dies down...but good for you! What glp do you take?

My wife and I are both on Tirzepatide at the moment, and I'm really enjoying it. Roughly 6 weeks in. I'm in my mid 30's, and it feels like for my entire life, half of my mental energy went toward food — either eating it or resisting it with everything I had. That flipped off nearly right away after my first 5mg dose. My problems with alcohol abuse, gone. Porn issues gone. All I do now is concentrate on work, my wife, the kids, and projects. My own mind has stopped battling me. Sure, people adore GLP1's for the weight loss, but in my case it turned me into a better husband, father, and a better man. And I'm not going back. In a very short span, I could name 100 work and financial things that got better. I can't wait for the future. Never felt like that before. When I try to explain it to friends and family, they don't even believe me or get it.

What about you, though? How has it been for you? What are you taking?

That's fantastic to hear! For me, one of the craziest things about glp1s wasn't the appetite suppression, but how my diet shifted all by itself. My cravings went from sweets to fruits and veggies. It blew my mind how much my diet changed. And awesome news about the blood pressure, keep up the great work!

Zero adverse reactions whatsoever, though hunger showed up for me today as well. With Sema I dealt with gas and a bloated feeling. Still, there's been no food noise whatsoever. Once the restrictions for newbies are lifted, I'm looking forward to getting some feedback. A few posts I've come across mention people using GLP-1 alongside Ret.

That's crossed my mind too...they're both doing the same job, and since Reta brings 1 extra component to the table, my instinct would be to remain on whichever 1 suits you best.

At 60, things have settled a little more around my middle. Altogether I've dropped 55 lbs...a portion of that came from losing weight on my own, and 25 came from tirz. Unless I get a dexa scan, there's no way to know how much visceral fat I'm carrying, though I doubt it's all that high...still, post-menopause it might be higher than I'd like. Reta, I understand, can can assist with that.

And maybe it's mostly curiosity on my part...what I'm doing right now is working fantastically, so probably I just need to stay put. That curiosity though, lol...

I'm very physical, especially with my work, but joining a gym may have to come next. Time is an issue...motivation as well, but I know I'll have better results physically. Are you a gym bunny now? I saw where you like weights...you seeing positive results?

Honestly, it's pretty incredible...naturally I already know what I should be eating...but these days it's turned into something totally steady! That shift makes a massive difference in the way you feel. And whenever I somehow misplaced that feeling, my eating became more hit-or-miss...back then, the main reason I wanted to drop weight was simply to 'feel good'. To feel that spark again, and to wake up wanting to get moving and do things. I give blood roughly 4 times per year, and I was stunned to notice my blood pressure had climbed as the pounds came on. Yikes! I'm older these days...if a steady, decent diet alone can sort it out, I'd rather not be taking medications, right? My belief is food comes first when it comes to improving how you feel...I'm also drawn to the notion of peptides that cooperate with your body, giving a positive push alongside the diet and excercise. I feel shame about the stretches of my life when I let things drift and stopped looking after myself. That's shifting now...I'm starting to grasp how crucial it is to have command over your body. Not only today...but for all the ones still ahead.

I'm 2 months in, and I've dropped roughly 15lbs so far. When it comes to what I eat on this med, I'm still experimenting. Before GLP, I was able to eat any food, and in big amounts, which I did. Now that I'm on GLP, my intake is small, so I keep a close watch on everything I consume. Up to now, my overall diet leans heavily on protein and fiber, with a moderate amount of fat. What's surprising is that I feel better when I eat less meat.

It's a bit wild, the transformations we experience. I'm also doing what I can to reset my gut bacteria, short of a transplant. Probiotics are something I take several times each day, and once my digestive enzymes show up, I'll begin those as well. I'm finding out how having no gallbladder plays into things with GLP peps. It's definitely fascinating to observe.

I haven't been consistent about the gym lately. I intend to return before long. For me, it's the top method to keep myself driven toward getting stronger and adding muscle mass. Since beginning my glp journey, I've dropped 2.2% muscle mass, though I've also shed 2.6% body fat. That isn't a lot, but I weigh 115, so there's that. Best of luck with your journey!
