Hey all, 35-year-old guy here, living in Europe. The reason I signed up is that I'd like to pick up knowledge from folks who've genuinely used GLP-1s, and get a clearer idea of how to go about this in a way that's both smart and sustainable.

My first Mounjaro dose was on March 9, and since then I've dropped from 111.3 kg down to 103 kg. Appetite and food noise have really shifted for me, and my aim is to make this work over the long haul instead of only hunting quick wins.

Sticking with things has been a problem for me before, along with stress eating, and I never quite found a routine I could keep up. I'm here to read, learn, and link up with people walking a similar road. Happy to be part of this.

Welcome,

Is your goal to drop overall body weight??

If keeping muscle mass matters to you, look into the King R ( reta )

Mounjaro was what I used before, but my total body mass began dropping, and bit by bit muscle went along with fat. After switching to reta, muscle mass stays while KGs come off.

Welcome!

That's a solid beginning — going from 111 → 103 and picking up on appetite shifts is precisely the kind of early signal you're after.

What really caught my attention is how much you're prioritizing long-term vs fast results. With issues like stress eating and staying consistent, that outlook tends to be the deciding factor.

It seems you're already tuned in to your body's reactions rather than fixating only on the number on the scale, and that will work in your favor.

For genuine firsthand stories and a range of methods, you've come to the right spot. Happy you're here 👍

Appreciate the response. Honestly, having gone through years of yo-yo dieting, I figure a fair amount of muscle has already been lost, which is why preserving what's left matters so much to me. I'm aiming to take in sufficient protein to hold onto it. My inexpensive Xiaomi smart scale shows no muscle loss up to now, though I have doubts about how reliable that reading is.

Reta does appeal to me, but plenty of posts I've come across suggest it's wiser to stay with whatever is already producing results. Right now I'm still only on my first pen, so I'm busy looking into which path is more sensible, whether that means picking up the 15 mg pen and counting clicks, or jumping directly to TR20 through a European seller.

Seeing folks who are eager to learn is really nice. I attempted to bring my 62 year old dad onto this platform, but he expected me to walk him through every single step.
Right, you can't skip the learning part. How has it been for you up to now?

A close friend of mine went through something comparable. She has zero interest in reading—she just wants to act. I care about her a lot, but eventually I had to be blunt: that isn't how this works. If she really wanted to understand, she'd study the material and take guidance from her doctor and reputable sources, rather than relying only on a buddy with 2+ years of GLP1 use.

thanks a lot.

Good to meet folks who are eager to pick things up. I attempted to bring my 62 year old dad onto this platform, but he expected me to walk him through every single step.

Yota, are you a bot? Why did you post that same text twice? hahaha

Posting twice wasn't intentional. I had just gotten up, and after coming back to this tab the comment was still sitting in the reply box, which made me assume it hadn't gone through. Sorry about that.

Hey!

During your time on Tirz, did you include any resistance training? I've now been taking it for 2 weeks, and while I've enjoyed going to the gym for several years, keeping weight off has always been a struggle for me even with training. My hope is that resistance training lets me shed mostly fat rather than muscle.

Trying Reta makes me somewhat hesitant, and I've also read that Tirz works better for suppressing appetite, while fighting hunger during diets has always been a huge challenge for me.

Up to now, sport hasn't made it back into my routine. I've had my fifth 2.5mg Munjaro shot, and I'd say food crosses my mind a bit more frequently.

Getting myself to restart exercise just isn't happening, so my attention has gone to long walks plus sorting out how I eat. Still, I'm aware that adding more sport would in theory make my results even better haha

I didn't train while taking tirz, and I ended up losing quite a bit of mass. These days I'm back at the gym and tracking calories strictly, so I have to make sure I'm eating enough. Reta keeps my hunger in check enough that I can make good food choices and hold onto muscle. Along with everything else good that Reta brings, for me Reta is king. I get 12k steps daily plus 30 minutes of cardio 3 times a week, and the scale keeps going down while the reflection in the mirror is starting to look better. Keep at it, mate

Yeah, adding sport makes it even better 🙂 nice job starting walks and sorting out your nutrition — changing everything at once is tough, so one step at a time 🙂

Today was my 3rd injection (2.5mg). Yesterday I got hungry a couple of times, which makes me think the Tirz was fading, but I managed to keep everything in check.

Wow, 12k steps daily is impressive! Does Reta leave you feeling fatigued at all? I'm still doing resistance training now that I'm on Tirz, though certain sessions are genuinely hard — I feel somewhat tired and work at 70-80% force. Still pushing through, hoping it's a side effect that fades.

Wishing you success as you get started! After 4 months on Reta, the advice I'd give is: don't skip your workouts, and make strength training a priority. When combined with GLP-1s, it makes a huge difference in both the outcomes you get and the lasting changes you're able to keep up!

At first, yeah, I believe that happened, but things are calming down now. That said, I've added SS31 and mots c to get more energy, so that could be playing a part too.
