Ohio newbie checking in! From late 2024 into early 2025 I spent a few months on compounded semaglutide. Things went sideways when gallbladder problems hit hard, I had surgery to remove it, then stepped away for a year. My hunch is that stones were already there without causing symptoms, and the sema tipped things past the breaking point. During that stretch I dropped roughly 17 lbs, stopped smoking around 5 mos back, and then put every pound back on. Wanting to try glp-1 again, I've now been on compounded tirzepatide for roughly 3 mos and it's going okay. The loss has been on the slower side for me. I'd estimate 2 lbs per 10 days. MFP is where I log everything and I've kept myself below my target. Lately my appetite has picked up, so I figure a dose increase is probably due, though I'm wary of hitting the ceiling too soon. Right now I'm on 7.5mg. On the plus side, I think it's also cut down nicotine cravings and eased inflammation in my body. My plantar fasciitis is gone and it's been quite a while since carpal tunnel symptoms showed up. Reta and the glucagon angle definitely have my attention. There are so many peptides I never even knew about that I'm now reading up on! Looking forward to picking up more knowledge and hearing what everyone has been through
. Also, finding out my $160 a month tirz isn't actually a fantastic bargain kind of blew my mind lol. Since I'm a numbers person and used to be a certified pharmacy tech, doing my own reconstituting seems doable, and I'm leaning toward that as the next step. I'm a 40 yo F and the weight definitely doesn't come off the way it did when I was younger. Getting it off and keeping it off has been a real fight. These tools mean a lot to me! Protein goals have been my focus, but exercise and muscle building are what I need to work on next. My job keeps me at a desk all day, and my evenings disappear into driving kids to sports, making dinner, tidying up, and collapsing by the end of it. I'd really like to hear from others who moved from tirz to reta, plus any advice you've got!
