Hi everyone, I'm 41F and I've been dealing with gut problems and inflammation for ages. IBS is something I suspect, but no proper diagnosis came my way since my dr mostly brushed off my worries and just handed me PPIs.

Standing at just under 5 ft, I'm quite short, and my weight stayed effortlessly in the 110-116ish lbs range until last August. That's when I came back from a trip and put on a lot (128lbs), and no matter how I tried my usual intermittent fasting or calorie counting, it wouldn't budge. Totally baffled me. My large belly is a struggle, and it appears even larger due to near-constant bloating.

My diet is fairly healthy, and I do weight lifting 3 days weekly. At home, yoga takes up 4,5 days.

I began hunting for methods to shrink my waistline and drop some pounds. Peptides are what I'm after, mainly for vanity and to keep my sanity. A script for Tirz was something I requested from my Dr, but she said no. Plus, I didn't know the monthly cost back then, so affording it would've been impossible even with a script.

Reddit was where my search led, then the compounded Tirz sub, but getting it in Canada isn't possible, so I continued exploring options and someone from that sub pointed me here. That's how I ended up in this place.

Having arrived and browsed a few posts, I see there's so much left for me to learn. and how much courage I'll need....

Thanks for taking the time to read, excited to learn more from all of you.

My first question is when you say "i did my research or do you own research" what does that mean exactly? google the querries or watch youtube videos related to it???

The questions you're posing are the right ones. My background is in science, and I conduct thorough research. ChatGPT serves as a great research assistant. It can locate scholarly articles on various topics and condense them. It can perform literature reviews and sum up the main findings. It can look through online conversations and report what users generally express.

Both Reta and Tirz merit investigation. Fwiw I use both of them because their effects complement each other. Regarding your other health concerns, you ought to look into KPV.

Welcome aboard. This place is packed with material. The usual advice is that if you put in the time going through older threads, most of what you're wondering about will already be covered, and you'll pick up plenty of extra details along the way that never crossed your mind. Knowing those things is what keeps you safe from Scams and the usual errors.

Before jumping into any new treatment, think about seeing a good doctor. Your circumstances are unknown to me, but a 10-15 pound weight gain might stem from several different causes, so getting the right care matters. Take it slow and enjoy the Journey.

Glad to have you! I’m just starting out on the GLP1 path too - there’s quite a bit to take in around here (no pun intended, ha) … still, I think you’ll discover that folks here are really supportive and warm 🙂

Appreciate it!

Hmm, the thought of bringing up possible root causes or problems behind weight that won't budge had never crossed my mind. At my appointment coming up next month, I'll definitely raise this.

What kinds of reasons might come to mind for you?

Hey, thanks for clearing up what "researching" means. At the moment I'm using chatgpt to look into KPV 🙂

If it's not too much trouble, could you tell me how you handle it when you're running 2 or more peptides — does each one go in its own syringe? Do you end up injecting 2 or more times daily and so on? That seems pretty intimidating

I don't know all the ins and outs, but a friend of mine just went through thyroid problems that made her put on weight quickly. Finding a doctor who actually hears you and partners with you can go a long way toward lowering risk and helping you make smart decisions.
