Thrilled to have come across this community. For more than 10 years I've been working on my health and fitness. My whole life I was overweight and obese — at 25 years old I stood 5'5 and weighed over 270lbs — then I changed my eating and began exercising. Through diet and exercise by themselves I dropped more than 125lbs. I've maintained that loss, added a lot of muscle, and never went back. Over the last couple of years I've gained 20lbs (part of it on purpose for a building phase and to try resetting my metabolism), and now nothing I try will budge it, plus I feel like something just isn't right (low libido, menstrual changes, fatigue, insatiable hunger etc etc). Bloodwork and Dr. visits come back with “you’re fine, you are doing everything right and very healthy”. I don't agree.

So I understood I needed to advocate for myself, take my health into my own hands and do the research. Roughly a year ago I gave Semaglutide a try and really didn't like it, made it less than two weeks.

Right now I've been on Reta for 4 weeks, down 7lbs, and while I'm thrilled that something finally moved the needle I'm dealing with a few minor symptoms. “The Fuck It’s” is the one worrying me most. Looking forward to picking apart some side effects and connecting with others about this in the forum.

Entering this peptide world has been fascinating, and for about 2 months I've been down the rabbit hole wanting to learn everything I can. I feel like peptides might be my light at the end of a dark tunnel. I'm here for it!

Have you given Tirz a shot? For a few months I was on Reta, and there were parts of it I appreciated, but roughly a couple of weeks back I quit because my sleep was bad and I felt worn out constantly. Since this week began, my sleep is back to normal and I feel much improved. I'm only asking: could those "fuck its" actually be tiredness?

Tirz is something I haven't given a shot. Based on what I've read, tirz tends to suppress appetite more strongly, and I had some concern that I wouldn't be able to get enough protein in while on it.

As for being tired — yes, that's been happening, though I've been making sleep a priority. I stumbled on something regarding dopamine: the same mechanism that helps turn down food noise in the brain (which is amazing! it's really been a benefit) may also dampen other drives, as if everything gets turned down. I suspect that could be part of it, along with being in a calorie deficit.

One thing I found fascinating: during my first week on Reta, my energy and motivation were off the charts. I'd love to have that feeling again.

How are things going for you now that you're off Reta? Besides the bad sleep side effects, did it help you?

Glad to have you here. I can relate—my own path to this point had some overlap. One piece of advice: drop that indifferent doctor and seek out someone who genuinely prioritizes your health and objectives. Such doctors are uncommon, but they are out there.

I have a comparable experience with a physician who said “you’re fine, your bloodwork is good, and you’re completely healthy” even though I was 315lbs. I’ve used Reta for about 7weeks and have lost 15lbs.

I don't think I really gave Reta a proper chance. There was a wedding coming up where I'd be attending as a guest, and I needed to squeeze into one specific dress, so losing weight felt urgent. When I started it, my hunger felt completely uncontrollable, which scared me, so I added Tirz on top pretty fast. The strange part was that the only thing I wanted was protein — I was putting away 5+ hard boiled eggs daily plus plenty of those baked cheese crisps where cheese is the only ingredient. Even now, with Tirz alone, the protein cravings haven't disappeared, though they're milder than before.

Once I can carve out time for strength training at the gym, I may give it another shot. Right now my kids are still little and demand my attention nonstop. Perhaps next year will be calmer and let me focus more on myself.

I've come across the stuff about dopamine. Still, I figured it was worth telling you about the fatigue, since I'd blanked on the fact that feeling exhausted and sleeping badly are Reta side effects. Then a couple of weeks back I saw a Reddit post bringing those up, and it clicked again — so I quit abruptly and bounced back pretty fast.

Man, that's a hell of a road you've been down. Impressive effort. I hope you're able to get whatever you're missing, get things sorted out, and begin feeling improved

I'm with Rdg1970 on this! Don't stop, and I appreciate you telling us your story. Peptides really do feel like that bright spot at the end of the tunnel—I couldn't agree more. If only I'd heard about them years back!

Thanks!

Yeah, they don't come around often.

What kinds of obstacles did you run into that ended up leading you toward GLP’s/other peptides?
My doctor was no help at all. Changing what I ate and working out simply failed to produce results. TRT had been going really well, yet it didn't bring any fat loss, so I went to the street pharmacist. For the time being, it looks like Reta has rescued my life. I was lucky enough to have people around me who cared. Now I'm pushing ahead and putting together a stack combo.

I am a 34-year-old woman who began taking Reta this week. The “fuck it’s” have not shown up for me so far, though I keep hearing they arrive later on and at larger doses.

I wish you luck figuring out what suits you eventually, cheers !
