I've been reading here for ages, but this is my first time writing anything. Before COVID hit, I managed to drop a huge amount of weight on my own. The downside was that I ended up with fairly serious disordered eating patterns and became sensitive to certain food groups. Then the lockdowns came and I put it all back on. Now I'm keen to give it another shot with a bit of extra support, and my hope is that this time I can maintain a healthy relationship with food!

It's nice to find a community that genuinely talks about these things. reddit is basically worthless, nothing but progress photos 🙄

Hi. I lurked for a while as well, and came across this forum once I stopped using reddit. The GLPs really do make it easier to pick the right foods. As you have probably seen across different threads, members here offer a lot of support. Best of luck.

g'day from another aussie! my very first order is currently on its way and i'm buzzing. went through something quite like yours — during the initial lockdown i had ana, then when the next one hit i was getting better but ended up bingeing far too much and put on quite a bit. ever since, it's basically been the same 20kg going up and down 😭 best of luck with everything ahead!

Hello there!

Have you started using any GLP medications yet, or are you still looking into it? Tell us where you're at!
Appreciate it ☺️ I haven’t started any yet—right now I’m mainly looking into things, though reta is the one I’m most drawn to at the moment. I’ll keep digging before I actually commit, but I also don’t want to drag my feet until the Aus government comes down on it hard.

Ugh, that really sucks — it's maddening because you still recall how much effort it took to get the weight off the first time. Then suddenly you're stuck at home with barely any opportunity to be active (for me that was Melb, during some of the longest lockdowns anywhere) + depression + uni workload, and that combination breeds a truly awful eating disorder.

Fingers crossed it goes smoothly for you!! Here's hoping we can both finally escape the gain / lose / regain loop — best of luck on the journey ✨
