Hey everyone, hope you're all doing well! I'm kicking off my GLP-1 adventure. Stats-wise: 6’4”, roughly 270 lbs. The number on the scale isn't really my main worry — what I want is to drop some fat. I've got a fairly solid amount of muscle and I hit the gym on a regular basis, but getting weight to come off has been brutally difficult. It's been creeping up for years and I've never managed to really stick with anything. That stops now. My thinking is to begin with Reta, and maybe later add a tesa/ipa blend as a stack — but for the start, it'll just be Reta on its own. There's also the fact that I have Crohn’s disease and I'm on adilumamab (humira) every 2 weeks. So if anyone here has dealt with that combination... I haven't had any GI problems for years, but I'm a little worried Reta might set off a flare. Any guidance on that would mean a lot too.

Thanks everyone!

I'm not a physician, so I can't address crohns or how biologics might interact. That said, if you're beginning R and worried about GI side effects, my recommendation would be to begin with .5 or 1 and remain at that level for 4 weeks while it accumulates in your body. Plenty of guidance says to stick with trial protocols and start at 2. Yet many individuals do well on a much smaller amount, .5, and notice effects right away. Until you begin, you can't know, and there's no need to hurry toward larger doses. In my opinion, low and slow at the smallest dose that works

Hi everyone, and thanks for joining. When it comes to dosing, beginning at a low level and gradually increasing is the safest route you can choose.

Glad to have you here!

Welcome! I'm also new here. Does it feel like you've been pushing yourself to the limit and crushing it at the gym, yet the weight won't come off? That's exactly my situation

I know I'm jumping in after the fact since I only just saw your post, but I wanted to check in and hope things are going alright for you. For my ankylosing spondylitis, I spent several years on adilumamab (before that, humira, until my insurance stopped covering it). Then I started Reta (dropped 40 lbs) along with some other peptides (TA-1, BPC/TB, and ARA-290), and I've been off biologics entirely with no symptoms coming back as of now. That's not me telling you to follow the same path... everyone's situation is different... I'm just putting my own experience out there. Wishing you the best and hoping that whatever approach you're taking is helping.

I’m curious to hear details about your time with ARA-290. What was the dosing schedule, and for how many weeks did you use it?

This week, 2 individuals in my circle began using it.

1 of them has Parkinson’s and is on 2mg

The second person is an athlete dealing with a nerve problem after ankle surgery.

4mg per day.

Crohn's isn't something I deal with, but ulcerative colitis has been part of my life for 35 years. Adalimumab was a medication I used previously, though in my experience it only masked the symptoms and inflammation rather than addressing them.

I'm not telling anyone else to go this route, but klow is what made a difference for me. My gut actually recovered from it, and it helps a lot with inflammation. These days I no longer take adalimumab at all, and I haven't had a flare up since.

So far I've completed 2 cycles. The protocol I used came from pep-pedia (https://pep-pedia.org/peptides/ara-290): 4mg per day, roughly 30 days total. My main reason for taking it was Meralgia paresthetica in my left leg, which I'd dealt with for years. It clearly made a difference — at this point it's 95% resolved. Beyond nerve repair, ARA is also being researched for chronic inflammation reduction, so I suspect it contributed to improvements in my RA as a whole, even though ARA isn't associated with auto-immune pathways. My plan is to run it about 3 times each year, or at least that's what I'm aiming for.

I appreciate you sharing all that.

Having 95% of it resolved is amazing!

Each of the two individuals is on a 30-day course. The 2mg dose for the one with Parkinsons was chosen out of caution, and after day 10 it will be increased to 4mg.

For my part, ARA-290 ranks among the most fascinating compounds. The amount of data is huge, yet nobody can explain why the research came to a halt! Once I'm able, I'll share the specifics and the results after 30 days for both of them.

Hello all you beautiful people, I’m starting my journey into the world of GLP-1s, I’m 6’4” and about 270 lbs. I'm not so concerned with the weight but more so trying to shed some fat, I’m a decently muscular build and lift pretty regularly, however just have a hell of a hard time putting off weight, have been steadily climbing for years and just can’t seem to commit. Well that is changing now, my plan is to start with Reta and possibly stack a tesa/ipa blend on top of it. But going to start with just Reta to begin with. I also have Crohn’s disease and take adilumamab (humira) bi-weekly. So if anybody has experience with that.. I haven’t had GI issues in years but am a tad concerned about Reta possibly causing a flare up, any advice there would be greatly appreciated as well.

Thank you all!

Since you began Reta for this, how have things been going? Are any other peps in the mix? And are you still taking Humira?
