Hey everyone, I found out about this forum through other spots online, and I'm really hoping to finally crack the code for lasting weight loss success. My whole life has been a cycle of losing and regaining. The most recent stretch was going vegan for at least 5 years. I dropped from 375lbs to a low of 205. But here's what I discovered: you can absolutely be a "fat vegan." That's exactly what happened to me. Chips count as vegan, don't they? So from my lowest at 205lbs in 2020, to right now where I've put back on roughly half of what I originally weighed, I'm back at square one. I understand how to eat. I'm very skilled at calculating my total daily energy expenditures and I'm great at counting calories and managing portions, WHEN I WANT TO BE. And that's the real issue. When I'm locked in and life isn't throwing other distractions my way, I do amazing. But when life creeps in, I listen to voices. That's when the food noise creeps in and I heed its call. I'm hoping to find a way to silence and control those voices long-term. So here I am still searching and hoping this will be the beginning of something great. I hope to learn and get to know other people and see how they navigate life. Happy to be here!

I've dealt with something quite like what you're describing. When nothing else is competing for my attention, dropping pounds and keeping my head in the game comes naturally. Yet the moment I slip for even a single day of staying disciplined—or allow myself a cheat day—I fall right back into my old patterns, the binge eating takes over, and every bit of progress gets wiped out. Reta turned out to be a big help for me; during the time I used it (short as that was), adjusting my lifestyle became much easier.
