Hey everyone!

Over on Reddit, I repeatedly came across references to "a GLP1Chat" that led me to this place.

I'm 42 years old, weigh 243lbs, and stand 5'7. My wife is 35, 4'11, and 195lbs. The two of us spent months talking about glp1s while trying to shed pounds the "normal" way. I chose to take the plunge and act as the test subject, going through a telehealth service because my insurance won't pay for any glp1s. Just over a month ago, they started me on Wegovy 1.5mg (pill). So far, I haven't noticed any change at all in hunger noise, fullness, or weight loss. Yesterday I was moved up to 4mg and this morning I took my first dose of that. I'm really hoping the higher dosage finally brings some kind of progress.

Over the last month, I've been digging deeper and deeper and now have a strong interest in Tirzepatide and Retatrutide. Should this 4mg Wegovy dose fail to produce any progress, I might try to get one of those, obviously without the $300+/mo price tag.

Happy to be here!

Welcome!!

It’s curious that your telehealth provider started you on the branded pill. Being in the US, have you thought about compounded tirz? Moving to injectables is a solid way to get headed the right way.

During my compound phase I bought from Pom, Brightmeds, Ezra and Gimme…and I still have a fairly solid stash. When the training wheels came off and it hit me these are lifelong drugs, I started my Grey research here and at STG.

There is A LOT to learn, so soak up everything you can and ask plenty of questions. It’s a very welcoming community.

Welcome to the forum. There's a heap of great information in here. I'm recently signed up myself, but I lurked for months just reading before that. Best of luck on your journey.

I slipped up by bringing up the pill (since that was the lowest cost option without insurance). Nothing was said to me about compounds. For roughly the past 7 days I've been digging into injectables. Fascinating material.

Appreciate the friendly greeting!

I appreciate the kind greeting. Since I'm completely unfamiliar with all of this, there's quite a bit to absorb.

Hi , and welcome . I am not very familiar with the pill , but my own starting point was a liquid compound semaglutide , which did not seem to have much effect , so I switched to Tirz fairly soon , and that is when things got interesting

Yeah, Reddit is how I ended up here. I've been gathering what I can from the forums over there, and I'm hoping this place has more to offer
