Hey all,
22 years old, 6’1", and I live in the Dominican Republic.
Weight has been a battle for basically my whole life. Lose it, hit the gym hard, tell myself I’ve cracked the code, then watch it all come back. That loop has played out multiple times across the years.
My family has a history of diabetes, and the moment that snapped me to attention was an elevated HbA1c that landed in the borderline prediabetic range. Back in 2023, a local doctor put me on Ozempic. It did something, but the cost of $220–250 USD per pen wasn’t something I could keep up with long-term, so I eventually quit.
By September 2025 I was at 313 lbs. I buckled down on training and a calorie deficit, and from September through March 2026 I dropped 28 lbs while adding some muscle. Despite that, my HbA1c barely budged and I was still showing plenty of the usual insulin resistance red flags.
After mulling it over, I chose to try reta. Since starting, I’m down 41 lbs altogether and the trend is still going the right way.
Happy to be in this space to learn and do my due dilligence with this universe, and I’m looking forward to picking up things from everyone’s experiences.
