Hi everyone, I'm clearly a newcomer here. Last month I hit 40, and I live in Kentucky. My reason for signing up on this forum is to gain knowledge about peptides, especially those used for weight loss, though I've noticed several others that seem quite intriguing.
A bit of history on my weight loss story. During my early 30's I reached my highest weight, maxing out at 220lbs (I'm only 5'0"), which is a lot for my height. Once I began taking weight loss seriously, using CICO and exercise, I succeeded in bringing my weight down to 115lbs. Sadly, the weight came back, and I put on roughly 50lbs again over the course of a year. I attempted to return to being extremely strict with CICO and exercise, but I couldn't sustain it. Food noise is my biggest issue. Eventually, I discovered my insurance would cover glp-1's, so I began with semaglutide, but after a month chose to change to Zebound, and then due to insurance requirements I ended up on Wegovy.
Everything was wonderful! No food noise. No cravings. Nothing. I dropped back to 120lbs and kept that steady for several months. In time, my insurance made the decision to stop covering glp-1's for weight loss, so once my supply was gone, I was unable to keep taking Wegovy. That happened in April of this year. Since then the food noise has come back. I've put on 10lbs since then and am gradually gaining each month. Without insurance, I can't manage the cost of this medication, so here I am.
I'm hoping to learn a great deal from this place.
