I've spent roughly a week reading along and getting a kick out of the threads on here; figured it was finally my turn to do the whole terrifying introduction bit 😉

Late 40s, female, and I've carried extra weight since my 20s. Whatever diet exists, chances are I've given it a shot. Over the past 15 years I've dropped and put back on the same 50 pounds more than once, and honestly, at this stage I probably need to shed around 130 pounds.

Roughly a year back I gave compounded Semaglutide a short try via Weight Watchers, but 2 months in they told me it was being discontinued. The cost was so absurd that I couldn't picture paying it, not only for however long it takes to lose that much weight, but possibly forever. At the low dose I reached, nothing registered except indigestion and heart burn.

Last winter I got a frozen shoulder diagnosis, and I was frantic for anything that would ease the pain and the drop in quality of life I'd been dealing with for more than 3 months. My PCP and my orthopedic surgeon both came up empty on real options. A relative told me to look into BCP-157, which he'd used for Crohn's Disease and which, he said, had also sorted out a shoulder injury of his. These came as oral capsules, and 4 weeks later I'd gotten back roughly 80% of my range of motion with far less pain. I was amazed and incredibly thankful. That sent me off reading about what other peptides can do, and here I am.

My injections have been every 6 days. March 19th was my start at 1mg of Reta, I held that dose for 4 rounds, then went up to 2.5mg every 6 days. So far I've dropped 7 pounds, though I've had some pretty noticeable bloating and a racing heart. I already dealt with some racing heart before this and take Propranolol for it...my hope is that getting to a healthy weight lets me stop that medication. Since my early 20s I've also taken levothyroxine for hypothyroidism. Another thing I'd love to be rid of! Hunger comes and goes, but I've realized I quit eating far earlier than I used to, and my urge to drink alcohol, which has been an issue since my late 20s, is basically gone.

Originally my plan was to move up to 4mg after 4 rounds at 2.5mg, but now I'm weighing either adding a small Tirzepatide dose on top of my current Reta dose, or simply going to Tirzepatide alone and setting Reta aside for the moment (because of the racing heart).

Thanks for providing such a great spot to keep digging into all this!

Good to hear that capsules are effective — I had no idea

Before I began looking into it later on, I had no idea any other delivery method existed. From what I've come across, the oral capsules are effective for stomach problems and not as effective for other types of injuries, but even so it definitely helped a LOT!

I take propranolol too, prescribed for tachycardia, and when I began Reta at a very low dose my heart rate still went up a bit. I ramped up gradually, and at this point it’s unclear whether my Reta has stopped doing anything or my heart rate simply isn’t reacting, but 4 1/2 months have passed, so I hope your hr elevation settles down as well. Capsule form bpc is something I’ve wanted to test, and hearing that it worked so well for you is really encouraging. 🙂

It would be wonderful if those heart problems cleared up...from what I've gathered in a few posts, things do seem to settle down at some point, but I'm hesitant about raising my dose again should the need arise. What was your starting dose? For sure give the BPC capsule a shot—it caught me off guard in a good way!

Glad BPC-157 gave you results. My own experience was different: I used it hoping to speed up healing after tendon surgery, and I honestly couldn't determine whether it made any difference. On top of that, I'd been dealing with a longstanding painful shoulder issue. After roughly 2 months of injecting it 2 times per day, that shoulder felt no different.

Hi! I’m also eager to give BPC a shot, paired with TB 500, for tendonitis in my knee and elbow. From what I’ve come across, oral capsules showed little benefit for joints, ligaments, tendons, and the like. Still, I’m happy that you got relief from it. That’s wonderful.

That makes complete sense to me. My own beginning was at the timid .5 dose, and I parked there for roughly 2 weeks before nudging it upward in small steps. A few years ago with tirz, I rushed the increase and paid for it with an entire day of what felt like my stomach muscles being ripped out. Strange as it sounds, the scale started moving downward immediately, even at that tiny dose.
