That isn't what I go by. My regular forum handle got swapped out by autocorrect. It's amusing. I'm keeping it.

60 yrs old. 226 lbs. My line of work falls under heavy DOT oversight, and I'm having a hard time getting through my physicals. It took a year of pestering my Dr before he wrote me a Wegovy script. As it happens, no weight loss drug is covered under my medical coverage. Dead-end, that one.

4 (count 'em!) co-morbidities are mine, yet my medical plan wouldn't budge. (OSA, morbid obesity-bmi>40, non-alcoholic Fatty Liver, uncontrolled hypertension).

Peptides came up on a gun forum, of all spots. Figuring out the how/what was a jigsaw, but the son is a freshly minted Dr, and the wife is a nurse, so between us we got it sorted. The wife gets Tirz under a different medical plan, so that's the path we took, and copying the dosages was simple enough.

Went all in, and across 7 weeks I'm down 35 lbs. Began at 3, moved to 6, now at 7.5. Aiming not to go past that since results have been good so far. Even so, it's a fight. Food occupies my mind A LOT.

I came across the stat that the typical person sheds 60%fat, 40%muscle, so I've been trying to hold onto as much muscle as I can.

My focus is on very healthy eating (plenty of baked/broiled fish, skinless chicken, plenty of steamed veggies, salads, clear soups). Protein gets tracked so I stay around/above 100 grams/day, hoping to head off muscle loss.

6 days a week I work out, 1 hour each day. Cardio is a constant (rowing machine, exercise bike), and free weights come every other day (on bike day). Again, to head off muscle loss.

My calorie count has stayed near 1000/day. Then 300-400 gets subtracted by the workouts, leaving net 600-700 cal/day.

After joining this forum I've been reading up on Retatrutide and asking myself whether I picked the right peptide.

Thanks to the moderator who fixed my initial post. I realize my mistake now, and I went back through the newbie guidelines once more.

Any tips for quieting the “food noise”? I’m using 7.5/6d Tirz, which I believed was the top option for cutting cravings. Still, it’s a real battle. Should I up the Tirz? Try a shorter gap (perhaps 4/2x a wk? Could adding some Reta be useful?

Sounds like upping your intake is both possible and possibly wise. With your training, 1000 per day is on the low side. The noise you're hearing about food might be genuine hunger signals. Try figuring out your TDEE, then aim for roughly 500 under it. I'd bet the number for weight loss lands nearer 1600. Make sure a good chunk of those calories comes from protein and clean, healthy foods. 37 pounds across 7 weeks works out to over 5lbs weekly. Losing the initial 20-ish quickly is typical, yet easing off now is likely better for you and another hint that more calories are needed. Once your diet is adjusted, there's still room to raise your Tirzepatide dose if that becomes necessary. I'm no doctor—just speaking from what I've personally been through. Hopefully this is useful.

Eating only 600-700 calories daily won't cut it. For my part, I wouldn't be in a hurry to drop pounds. Raise your intake somewhat, make sure protein stays high, and work some basic resistance weight training into your routine (simple stuff, no need for anything fancy). That way, the food noise should quiet down, and holding onto muscle gets easier.

Appreciate the responses from both of you — I only noticed them today!

Basically, that's the direction I landed on: bumping up to roughly 1300-1400 calories daily, and being okay with 1-1.5lbs per week as a solid pace.

As of last week, I moved up to the 10mg/wk dose. I picked up the Reta, but for now I've chosen to continue with the Tirz.

Just crossed the 40 lbs mark since this new hobby began!

I'm a newcomer to this place and I take tirz too, so I don't know exactly what I'm permitted to discuss. Still, speaking just for myself, my food noise improves the more I remove processed carbs. Back at dose 1, when motivation was running high, I trimmed them down a lot, and 33 weeks in now, that noise is fairly quiet. I'm down 72lbs, and my most recent dose was 10.6mg. In my head I'm also figuring I'll hold onto reta for a future point when tirz quits working, lol. I've still got about 16~ lbs to go before my goal, so my hope is that it won't be necessary, but keeping it in my back pocket, so to speak, feels good. Just in case.

That's great . Don't stop the good work.

That Ducati 748 in the profile pic (at least I believe that's the model) is great.

Seems like your early path matched mine when it came to figuring out how many calories worked. I dealt with serious brain fog plus fatigue whenever my intake was too low.

Have you considered dividing your doses? I've lost 115 pounds, and tirz accounted for the majority of it, with injections every 4 days. When I attempted to go up and remain on a 7-day schedule, the food noise hit me terribly by day 5. Taking 7.5mg every 7 days (as you described) works out to 8.75mg weekly. If you want to split the dose every 4 days without raising your total, you'd inject 5mg every 4 days. Do you happen to use Shotsy (a phone app)? For me it was a huge help to see visually where I stood during the peaks and dips. I'd give that a shot before bumping up your dose. Your doses are escalating somewhat quickly compared to the prescribed schedule (which should be 2.5x4 weeks, 5x4 weeks, 7.5x4 weeks....you're at week 8 and at 8.75 when you ought to still be at 5).

That's awesome progress on your part! Processed carbs were never a big part of my diet, though.

That works out to 748! The picture dates back 25 years, yet the bike is still mine! These days I mostly ride a '72 Norton. Once the hand shaking/tremors kicked in from not eating enough — low blood sugar — I raised my calories.

Right after starting, I switched to dosing every 6 days, since my food cravings became uncontrollable by day 7. Could split dosing be stretched out to 7? Or perhaps a smaller dose every 3 days?

Shotsy isn't something I've tried; I'll take a look, thanks.
