Hi all, I just joined this forum and I'm also pretty much a beginner when it comes to peptides, and I have something I want to ask regarding ghkcu.

I began using ghk cu 3 weeks back (currently in week 4) and I'm trying to figure out whether it's expected that my acne has gotten worse compared to how it was at the start. I've read about the "copper uglies" so I'm taking a zinc supplement every day, but my acne is still a bit more severe than it was in the beginning. Is this something to worry about, or does it usually improve over time?

Thanks to anyone who takes the time to reply, I really appreciate it, and I'm looking forward to picking up more knowledge about peptides here.

Hey! It’s a shame nobody replied to you about this. I put up the same question not long ago under “copper uglies” — there’s solid advice from many folks in there, so take a look if you’d like 😊

Could you point me to that post?

What's the current state of your skin? Any improvement? I'm thinking about beginning ghkcu, so I'd like to know.

Head to the magnifying glass icon in the upper right of your display, then type "copper uglies" into the search field—the post ought to appear. Since results are keyword-based, you may have to scroll a bit to locate it.

I wish the original poster had said how many mg they were injecting. I've come across a few accounts of people who take large doses of ghk-cu and end up with copper uglies.

Use the search icon near the top, enter “copper uglies”, and make sure the option for searching title words only is checked. Mine were severe around 5 days back, though they are now settling and disappearing 😊 I was injecting glow (ghkcu50,bpc10,tb500 10) combined with 3ml bac at 12 units nightly. After I lowered it to 10 units and introduced kpv10mg, everything is resolving.

Hey there! Glad to have you here 😊

With GHK-Cu, what you're going through is quite typical — it's commonly referred to as the "copper uglies" (breakouts or acne that show up temporarily). The reason is that early on, the copper peptide can stir up toxins and speed up how quickly your skin cells turn over.

For most folks, it worsens during the initial 3–6 weeks, and after that it tends to improve a lot as the body gets used to it. Given that you're just at week 4, you're still inside that normal settling-in period.

Some things that tend to be helpful:

• Keep up the zinc (smart move) — a lot of people take 15–30 mg of elemental zinc each day alongside GHK-Cu.

• Be gentle with your skin: use a non-comedogenic moisturizer, hold off on strong actives for the time being, and keep skin clean.

• If the acne is really bothering you, some people dial their GHK-Cu dose down a bit for 1–2 weeks and then raise it again.

• Drink enough water and try not to eat too many inflammatory foods.

It's nearly always something that passes and isn't a reason to quit unless it turns severe or you develop other symptoms. Stick with it — many people say their skin looks much better (fewer wrinkles, better tone, quicker healing) once that first purge phase is over.

Should things keep worsening past week 6–8, or if you're truly uncomfortable, do check with a doctor. Hope that's useful!
