Been reading along here for some time, picking up what I can from the community. I began Reta early in January and dropped 42 lbs over 12 weeks — that pace was far too quick. Now I'm dialing things back to slow it down.

Appreciate all of you who take the time to pass along what you know

I did titrate upward, though I divided my dose into separate injections. My original plan was simply to follow the trial schedule of 2, 4, 6, and so on. Looking back, a slower increase would have been wiser. Around my 4th week, my heart rate climbed by roughly 30 bpm. Without an I watch, I never would have caught the HR change. I never experienced a racing heart or palpitations that I could feel. My HR remains elevated, and even after doubling my beta blocker, the effect was minimal.

The main side effects I dealt with were diarrhea during the first few weeks, anhedonia, and skin irritation. All of those have now resolved after 10-12 weeks.

My beginning dose was .5, then every week I increased it by half, and now I'm staying at 2 since the positive effects are there along with only a few side effects that I can handle... Plus progress is finally showing up, which pushes me to work out and keep the momentum going.
