Hey all! Really glad to have found this place! My compounded tirzepatide journey began on 1/15/25, and across 373 days — a bit more than a year — I've dropped 50 lbs. Fat loss has mostly flatlined throughout the past 3 months, so I'm taking stock of what comes next. Somewhere around 123-125 lbs is where I'd like to land. Roughly 30 lbs remain, and my aim right now is getting past this stall without sacrificing lean mass or metabolic health.

Staying active has never been optional for me. Martial arts — wushu kungfu, tai chi, shaolin kempo, plus a bit of muay thai — have been part of my life for 30+ years, and Pilates came in last year... reformer at first, then mat Pilates once I concluded the reformer class pricing was somewhat unhinged. Together they've supported strength, mobility, and recovery while my body composition shifts on a GLP-1.

On the work side, I'm in the wine business and have spent a long time in food and beverage, so reduced appetite, tasting as part of the job, and eating socially while on compounded GLP-1s have made for an interesting balancing act.

Going forward, I'm digging into options — possibly moving from tirzepatide over to retatrutide given the stall, and carefully layering in other peptides for fat loss, recovery, and general health. My approach is cautious, grounded in data, with attention to dosing discipline and something I can sustain.

Excited to pick up knowledge from everyone here, swap notes on compounded protocols, and keep myself accountable for what's ahead.

You'll find your way through it, I'm sure. The scale sat still for nearly 3 months on me, though some fat did come off in that stretch. Lately it has started to move down again. Sounds like the right things are being done, so there's no specific advice I can give — it clearly differs from person to person — but I can offer encouragement that it is working, even when it doesn't look like it.

Wishing you success in pushing past that plateau. I'm confident you'll work it out. My own tirz journey began in Jan of this year, and I'm picking things up along the way. Could you share how often you dose and how much you take?

Right now I'm taking tirz at 9mg each week. I did try 10mg at one stage, but the side effects became too much to handle at that level. Since pinning every 5 days worked well for me before, I may return to that schedule.

Fu, I really feel for you. Trying to shed weight while working in that field is no easy feat. Still, major respect for dropping all those pounds while on Tirz.

Last year, when I was on Sema, fine dining and wine absolutely wrecked me. These days I'm on a small dose of Reta, and I'm loving it! That said, we had a multi course meal out last weekend and my weight jumped for a few days. 😙

My guess is you'll be a fan of Reta. Hunger is almost nonexistent for me on it, and I've had no side effects at all—none of the typical GLP nausea or 💩. Mornings do bring pretty low blood sugar, but since I'm pretty much only eating steak and fat to hit protein goals and keep muscle, that's from the low cals and carbs, not the Reta.

This compound is seriously impressive. I'm at 2mg/week, and I keep wondering whether 1mg would have been enough, given how strong the appetite suppression is. Only a couple of weeks in, and I've dropped from 135 to 123, while doing MUCH less fitness than usual (weights, rebounding, yoga). I also take 1mg of Tesamorelin before bed, so that's probably contributing to the fast loss this close to goal.

Welcome! That last 30 will be gone by summer.

What was it like for you moving from sema over to reta? Did you have to follow a lengthy titration swap plan?

One thing worth considering: your daily calorie target may need a fresh look. After many months of taking this medication while dieting, the body compensates by lowering its metabolic rate in response to the ongoing calorie deficit. The downside is that your calorie needs drop. It also means online calculators will not give you accurate numbers when you try to figure out your TDEE and work out the intake needed for a 500-calorie per day deficit to keep losing weight.

TDEE Calculator

This calculator estimates the Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) of a person based on their age, physical characteristics, and activity level.

Take a few weeks, track everything you eat strictly, and target 1900 calories per day. When the scale stops moving, the first step is to work out what your energy needs actually are at your current weight. After that, log your food carefully and count calories precisely for at least 1 week so you can confirm a 500-calorie deficit. If there is no calorie deficit, more weight loss is unlikely.

From what I gather, tirzepatide tends to produce a weight reduction of 20 to 22%. That seems to be where you've landed. I found myself in a similar situation, so I introduced some reta, and it has been effective in my case.

I stalled out at 10 lbs shy of my target weight. So I introduced 4 mg of reta, with tirz injections on Saturday and reta on Tuesday. By that same week, the scale started moving down again. Stacking an additional peptide is something worth thinking about. A lot of people combine tirz with cagri. I may have chosen that path too, except I already had reta sitting around that I got through gray market sourcing for a friend. After adding the reta, I did experience a few low blood sugar episodes, so be careful and maybe think about having a glucometer available.

I've hit a serious plateau too. The scale feels like it's mocking me — I keep inching toward dropping under 180. First 180.4, then back up to 181.5, then 180.6.

Wishing you the best!
Man! That described my attempt to break under 200 lbs. One day the scale showed 201, next time 200.5, then 202—and then suddenly it began creeping into 199, and since then I’m dropping roughly 1#/wk.

I wasn't able to titrate, since my bf refused to hand over another one of his Sema pens. Nearly a year passed with me off it, and 9 of the 17 lbs I had lost came back, right up until I located different sources on the internet.

A correct titration transition ought to keep that regain from happening. Even so, your line of work might get in the way. If tasting—without spitting—happens every day, that final stretch could prove harder.

Rather than stacking another GLP, have you thought about a GH analogue? Given how fit you are, it might be enough to get past the plateau and begin recomposing your body weight, so that the number on the scale matters less than how you look or feel.
