Hey everyone! Thrilled to have landed here. My time on Reddit turned nasty, hostile, and honestly awful, so I went hunting for any place at all that could offer support through my GLP1 journey.

Some background on me: female, 46 years old. I began at 355 and currently sit at 288. These meds are not treating me kindly. I've been on them since May 2025 and the loss is nowhere near what I'd hoped for. For close to 20 years, I've held high-stress IT jobs. Starting next week, I move into a role outside IT, so with luck my stress will ease up a bit. A gal can dream, right? People push back on this a lot, but before GLP1s, food noise meant nothing to me. What I struggle with is willpower, poor decisions, and bad information. Put simply, I was and remain a complete idiot loser. Things went fairly well until Sept 2025, when I reached one of the larger Wegovy doses and, effectively, had no desire to eat. No nausea, just a strong aversion to food overall. That held until I talked with my physician in November 2025 and made the switch to Zepbound. I had to begin at a very low dose. From Sept 2025 through Feb 2026, I kept bouncing around the same few lbs. In March, I moved up to 7.5 Zepbound and began losing again. Side effects were minimal. Then in late April 2026, I started 10.0 Zepbound, and wow, it has been a nightmare. The food aversion is fully back, plus the gastrointestinal side effects are just dreadful. Over the past two months I've spoken with RDs and others, and whatever I eat triggers problems. ANYTHING. I'm hoping people here can offer good ideas and help me push past this hump. I still have 100 plus more lbs to lose and I don't think I can endure this for another 2-3 years. I'd also like to support others too. As a nerd, science comes first for me. I appreciate all of you and hope to be a solid community member. Looking forward to getting to know everyone!

To me, you don’t come across as some idiotic loser. I’m happy you made it to this place. Reddit can truly be a cesspool.
I appreciate the kind words. Honestly, though, I do feel that way. Reddit has probably gotten under my skin more than it should have. You see photos of folks dropping 100, 110 lbs within a year. I've dialed in my nutrition, attempted to work out, and tried making smarter decisions, yet I keep running into walls. To put it mildly, that's incredibly disheartening. Last December 2025 was the first time I dealt with food noise. I made a Reddit post saying that given the chance, I could demolish a whole Philly cheesesteak. I was only joking around, but this individual chose to inform me that I'd lose all my muscle and turn into all these other things, and I'm thinking, I was just messing around. It's honestly poisonous. I suppose I expected it to be more like the message boards from back in the day!

It seems like negative remarks attract more engagement. Is that because of the algorithm? I suppose that applies to nearly every media platform these days.

Leaving the redditards behind was a smart move. Plenty of solid information is available in this space. Make the forum search button your new bff.
Honestly, a few of those people could really use a reminder to go outside and get some fresh air. I can't wait to explore the forums in more depth! 🙂
