Hope you're all doing well! Several months of research later, I'm glad to have landed on the forum. Quietly reading some very informative threads has taught me plenty already, and I hope to add my own experiences before long.

I'm an ordinary person with a fairly typical story: weight has been a struggle since I was a child, and I could never grasp how some people just...didn't think about food much at all. Nutrition and macros were adulthood discoveries, along with the realisation that being slightly miserable all the time was the price of sitting at a weight I wanted (in my case, anyway). Chronic health issues have been part of the picture too, and no doctor ever seemed willing to really dig into them. Wanting to solve both is what pushed me toward peptides, supplements and doing my own reading. Results so far have been great, though not being hungry and having no interest in sugar is a genuine head trip 😂 is this how "normal" people feel?!?

Right now I'm researching a small stack while continually learning and reassessing. Grateful to be in this community, and I can't wait to share data, ideas and anecdotes.

Have a lovely day!

They've got it easy. Either it happens below the level of conscious thought, or their schedule leaves no room for it.

For the last 2 weeks, construction has been going on at my house, which pushed me to start work 2 hours early. The result is I can't fit in making breakfast, and since I head home from work early, there's no lunch at work for me either. The moment I walk in the door, I leash up my pup and we're out for a couple of hours. Once we're back, it's her feeding time, and that window lets me handle family calls plus emails/news/etc. while she sleeps. Then comes her afternoon walk, and by the time I'm home around 5, I finally sit down to my 1st meal of the day, and probably my only one. Across the whole day, food crosses my mind maybe 2 or 3 times, but whenever it does, there's no food anywhere near me. Naturally, once construction wraps up in a couple of weeks, I'll go back to breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It's wild how effortless it looks.

Anyway, none of this clicked for me until I came across your post. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

What I was really getting at is how much mental real estate food occupied for me. It wasn't that I felt driven to obtain it when it wasn't available — rather, I was more or less constantly peckish or had eating on my mind. Or that feeling of being unable to say no to a craving the moment I came across something I enjoyed, even when I wasn't really hungry.

Years back, a colleague I usually grabbed lunch with mentioned she'd be sitting that day out because she had dinner plans that evening. I recall how completely alien that sounded to me... Eat time is NOW, you simply eat again afterward, lol. The way she said it, like it was the most ordinary thing imaginable — and I guess for her and plenty of others, it was. Feels good to be in that group these days 🙌
