Hi,

I'm in Australia and joined up not long ago. This area has had my attention for some time.

Age-wise I'm 47. Exercise is something I enjoy, though injuries happen now and then. Recently it was my lower back.

With a BMI of 26, the main reason I ended up here was hunting for a GLP source I could realistically obtain (getting a prescription when you're only just into the overweight range is tough) and that doesn't break the bank.

Right now I'm not on anything, I've got no clue where to source it here in Australia or what's legal, and injections aren't appealing to me... so I'm here to do some digging.

Can't wait to have a look around!

Hello!

In Australia the mark up is huge, and locally compounded products tend to be of rather poor quality.

Practically everything that gets shipped from OS will probably arrive at about 1/10th of the price. If you can't handle the injection side of things, that will be a real show stopper. The good news is that subcutaneous means using only the smallest of needles - you hardly notice it.

I'm also new here, but from what I've skimmed there's a decent amount of solid information and it's simple enough to find your way around. Do some reading, educate yourself, and when or if you're ready, you'll work out what you want to do.

Appreciate it. As for the shots themselves, before I looked into any of this I pictured something like a heroin user hunting for a vein. From what I've read since, subcutaneous works nothing like that. There's no big syringe going into a vein — it's just a small prick into the fat on your belly or thigh. That I think I could handle. Even so, I keep asking myself whether it's actually safe. Isn't there a chance of infection? Like I said, I'm only at the beginning of looking into all this.

Welcome,

Take a look around the forums and you'll come across various things. I'm not able to discuss sources, but be sure to go through the rules and search for where to obtain stuff.

For SubQ, an 8mm 32g 0.3ml needle is simple to use and you barely feel it.

My start was with prescription Sema, supplied in a pen. These days I'm able to use an insulin needle, though I still lean toward filling a pen because its needles are finer and more sharp. Some pens I ordered came from AliExpress.

On the subject of infections: look into it properly, make sure your infection control methods are done correctly, and you'll be fine. There are lots of videos available that show you how it's done.

Pretty much all the rest depends on how much risk you're willing to accept.

If the pin is something you're worried about, a numit lotion could be an option — it eases the discomfort from the pin. Apply it 30 mins ahead of the pin and you won't feel a thing 🙂

Also, 34g needles exist. Those are the tiniest ones I've come across. If you're going the pen route, they're gentler on your skin and on your cartridge. 34g can be a bit trickier to track down, but they're available, and 1 box should cover you for two years.
