Hey everyone!
36F, Southern California resident. 5’5”, 172 lbs.
Through most of my childhood I was slim, but from my early through late 20s the weight crept up steadily. At 28 I signed up at a boot camp gym, which is where my fitness journey began. Boot camp was a religious habit for 2 years, then I switched things up with Orangetheory, CorePower Yoga, and finally home workouts once COVID hit. These days it’s mostly YouTube sessions at home (any Caroline Girvan fans out there?).
My fittest point was 149lbs; my steadiest was 153lbs (by that I mean I wasn’t watching diet or exercise closely and the number held without much effort). The 150s haven’t been on the scale for close to 2 years now. Mild fatty liver is also in my history, and I managed to turn that around using a high fiber diet plus fish oil supplements.
The 170s are the heaviest I’ve been, and honestly I just haven’t been feeling good. My goal is to get leaner overall while dropping body fat as much as I can. A recent Dexascan put my body fat around 44%. Zepbound was prescribed to me not long ago, but insurance said no, so after weighing my options I decided to give Reta a try.
I’m 2 weeks into my Reta journey, at 1mg per dose each week. On the first day the food noise went down, but by Day 4/5 after the shot it felt like most of it had returned. Doing my best not to get discouraged and just stay the course, so I can see how I feel and look after a few weeks before I decide whether to increase the dosage.
Any advice or tips anyone wants to share would be appreciated. Thanks!
