For years I've been stuck in that cycle — shedding weight, putting it back on, shedding it again, putting it back on 🙂 all while following the "eat less, move more" approach. Now that I've hit 60, finding the drive is far tougher. That's why, 4 weeks back, I began taking Mounjaro, and so far I've dropped 11kg (5mg). I'm feeling quite well overall; the only small annoyance is a dry mouth. Honestly, I'm amazed at how it silences the "food noise." Normally my mind is already lining up my next meal before I've finished the current one. So, greetings to all of you, and thank you for this wonderful site — the forums are packed with so much knowledge and firsthand experience.

cheers

Glad to have you here. I'm also 60, and there's still time. My grandmother was mostly Scottish. She took pride in being descended from a well-known missionary from that country. Still, her branch and my father's paternal branch were heavy people. Hereditary factors there. I hope you find all the information you're looking for here.

In our family, the "heavy people" gene is definitely present 🙂 if someone in our family is skinny, they're either adopted or very sick. Thanks for the reply, I'm slowly making my way through all the advice piled up on the site

Keep your guard up and you'll make it in this community.

I'm another Scot by birth — and wow, escaping an obese family is no small feat... I relocated to Australia hoping to leave all that behind.... but you carry that weight with you regardless. Wishing you well on your path!

Mounjaro has been part of my routine for 12 months now, and I've dropped roughly 25kg.

It's quite a coincidence—a few years ago my brother and his wife relocated to Thailand, and he's shed a significant amount of weight 🙂 When we went over a couple of times, the heat was unbearable for me as a chubster; it felt like I was moving around inside a hot shower. Congratulations on your weight loss.

The drop in food noise continues to surprise me. Wishing you success

Nice work on your progress! One thing to mention- I halted the weekly pep dose for my research subject, and after roughly a year, both the weight and the food noise returned. They really do miss not having food on their mind!!

So once you reach a spot that feels right for you, make sure to continue a maintenance dose so the results stick!

Wishing you success with this!
