Hey all,
It feels good to be joining this space, and I can't wait to get involved with everyone here.
A bit of background on me — I live in Ohio, I'm raising two kids on my own, and I work full time. The main reason I ended up here is that I want to keep stacking up healthier routines and stay answerable for them, and my focus isn't only dropping weight — it's feeling better overall and adding years of good health. Over the last several years I went through my own experience with losing weight, and I'm down more than 60 pounds thanks to a combination of changing how I live, staying consistent, and figuring out how to squeeze fitness and nutrition into the chaos of being a working mom.
Going through all that genuinely changed how I think. The number on the scale stopped being the whole story — it turned into having more energy, more confidence, and being more present for my kids and for myself. There's still something new to learn constantly, particularly when it comes to holding onto the progress I've made, staying disciplined, and keeping my head up when everything gets crazy.
Nobody has diagnosed me with diabetes, but I want to find out more about prevention, about metabolic health, and about where GLP-1 medications fit into the wider picture of health and weight management. My reason for being here is to get a sense of how others have experienced things, to teach myself, and to hear straight talk from people who've actually lived it.
What I'd love to take away from this community is encouragement, information, and genuine discussion — nothing that promises overnight results, just realistic methods that hold up over time. And I'd like to be able to cheer on other people doing their own version of this, no matter where their starting line is.
Excited to pick things up from all of you and to be a part of something good and welcoming.
