Hello everyone!
My name is John and I'm from Northern California. I recently joined because I'm looking to learn from people who have firsthand experience with GLP-1 medications and to be part of a community that understands the ups and downs of the journey. I have taken prescription wegovy with basically no results, and zepbound titrated to the max dose but my insurance stopped paying for it.
Weight has been something I've struggled with for years. At my heaviest I was around 306 pounds, (I am 6'4") and I've been working hard to make sustainable lifestyle changes rather than chasing quick fixes. I've had some success so far and still have a ways to go, but I'm committed to improving my health for the long term. I am currently at 245 and cant seem to break 240. My ideal goal is 220-230 with muscle.
I'm also recently graduated from a medical program., so I enjoy learning about the science behind these medications, nutrition, and how to build healthy habits that actually last. That said, I'm here primarily as someone on this journey myself, and I know there's a lot to learn from people with real-world experience.
I'm hoping to learn more about nutrition, exercise, managing side effects, long-term maintenance, and hearing what has worked well for others. In return, I hope I can contribute where I have something helpful to offer and be a positive part of the community.
Thanks for having me. I look forward to getting to know everyone and learning from all of you!
