Hey all. Peptides have been on my radar a lot lately. Funny enough, my introduction to them came through Clavicular, who I found out about by way of NJF. I'm 6'2", and I've hit my heaviest ever at 270 pounds. In my mid 30's. After our first child arrived 5+ years back, I quit training. For the last 8-9 months I've been back under heavy weights. At the moment Retatrutide is my main focus, though I'm also weighing gh secretagogues such as Tesamorelin for adding muscle and targeting belly fat. Outside of peptides, what I take now is creatine, protein, l-carnitine, vitamin mineral fusion, boron, d3, k2, copper+zinc, and magnesium glycinate+glycine before bed. Within the next week I plan to finally buy my first Reta. Can't wait to swap stories and chat with everyone here!

Package from my initial purchase showed up 2 days back. The reconstitution liquid was clear. I did my first injection yesterday evening at 1mg, and despite taking magnesium and glycine, getting to sleep was a bit difficult. Apart from that, I've had no issues at all. Thinking about bumping it to 2mg in the coming week.

By Saturday, the day after my initial shot, the food noise had returned. So Saturday evening I injected 1mg more. Then on Wednesday—just a few days ago—I increased it to 2mg. Today, which is Saturday, there’s a little food noise. I’m thinking about taking a 2nd dose tonight, the same way I did 7 days ago.

Mornings have been for exercise. I’m getting 200g of protein each day, plus some basic vitamins.

My monster+zyn routine is still going strong, though 😂

For the past 4 weeks I've been doing Reta split doses 2x/week, and this week I'm moving up to 2mg doses. A friend told me to split the dosing so the side effects would even out, but in some discussions I've seen people say that splitting the dose makes it work less well. I want to find out whether that's actually true. The night before a dose, I really do feel the cravings starting to come back, and I'd guess that switching to 1 shot a week would only make that worse.

The half-life comes out to 6-8 days, which means splitting the dose shouldn't really be necessary. I have no idea who came up with the idea that split dosing is the optimal approach. During the trials, they weren't splitting doses, were they?

What I believe is worth keeping in mind about these GLP medications is that they function simply as an aid for building healthier routines. This is a marathon, not a quick solution.

I’ve come across arguments on both sides regarding receptor desensitization. There are strong points made by each side. That said, the case opposed to splitting doses mostly rested on trusting the trial and study researchers, which is reasonable (clearly). What keeps me uncertain is the abundance of personal reports from people who split their doses and still do very well. For 2 weeks straight I’ve clearly noticed the appetite suppression fading. Quite a lot at the 1mg dose, and a little at the 2mg dose.

Also, I just stepped on the scale. I’m down 8 pounds
