Hey all, happy to have found this place.
34 years old, living in Cologne, Germany, and I work in tech. The gym has been part of my routine for a long time, I train regularly and keep an eye on sleep, nutrition, that whole set of habits, and my priority has always been health over the long haul instead of pure performance or looks. These past couple of years though, the metabolic and longevity angle has pulled me in deeper: the mechanics of how weight and energy get regulated by the body, the reasons the old "eat less, move more" advice leaves so many people stuck, and the actual mechanisms behind the newer GLP-1 and related compounds.
I ended up registering here because, despite reading plenty of clinical papers and press articles, there's a massive disconnect between "Phase 3 trial shows X% weight loss" and the everyday reality people describe. Food noise, the way appetite and energy move across weeks and months, handling side effects, what dose adjustments feel like, the longer maintenance journey, that sort of firsthand insight is exactly what I want to pick up.
Things work a bit differently here in Germany, so I'd also love to link up with others in the DACH region dealing with the same situation.
Appreciate the welcome, and I'm keen to get to know folks around here.
