Hey to all of you (hopefully) healthy folks!

Time for a quick introduction:

I'm 24 years old, living in Germany, and it was Gemini that finally led me to this forum!

Since I rely on a translator most of the time, I want to say sorry upfront — my English just isn't good enough yet to follow everything here without a bit of assistance.

My job is at a construction site, and it can be really draining, but I get through it!

Right now I'm on a GLP-1 Medication, and within a month I've already dropped 8 kg, which honestly amazes me. (Actually: 124kg and 1.80m) (Target: 90kg)

I'm excited to be here as part of a great community, and I'm glad to answer whatever questions you may have!

Best regards,

Breta, glad you joined us! It fascinates me how the process of obtaining this medication varies from one country to another. Was it difficult for you to secure the prescription in Germany? Here in the U.S., a lot of us unfortunately can't get insurance to pick up the tab, and that's exactly why so many of us have ended up in this space!

Hi! I really appreciate the friendly welcome.

Regarding what you asked: over here in Germany, the situation is quite comparable. When GLP-1 medications are prescribed for weight loss, public health insurance typically won't pay for them, which means the majority of users must cover the full cost themselves.

Official pharmacy prices sit at roughly €300 to €400 each month, and for a lot of people that is simply too much to keep up with over the long term.

Since the costs are so high, many turn to options such as Retatrutide. Each month it comes to just 10% of what the official GLP-1 price would be.

but the catch is that it’s not yet officially approved or available in pharmacies it’s only accessible through the grey market (which is what I personally do as well).

It's wild how the same coverage problems and cost hurdles show up basically everywhere around the world.

Everyone is facing identical difficulties and coming up with identical workarounds. 😉
