Hey everybody!

I come from Alberta—which, at the moment, is still part of Canada, though maybe one day it'll be its own country. Haha, just kidding. Sort of. I'm 36, and I just became a dad. My story is the usual one: I spent a long time being really active and in great shape, then I let things slide and got pretty heavy.

Not long ago I began Reta. For 1 month I was at 1 mg/week, then I bumped up to 2mg and have stayed there for 2 weeks. So far it's going well—no sides at all, and the weight is coming off slowly but in a way I can notice.

My starting weight was 270, and right now I'm at 258. I'd like to get down to around 235. At 6'1, I like carrying some bulk because of what I do for work.

Mountain biking, hiking, snowboarding and hunting are things I do a lot, and my main hope is just to enjoy them with less effort—especially when my son gets old enough that I have to keep up with him.

Glad to be part of this community and to pick up things from all of you.

Hey man, Alberta here as well. I began R in October and I'm down close to 30lbs. Keep at it and do the work and you'll do great. My weight has kind of always been a struggle, going anywhere from 210-250 over the last few years, and this has been the simplest weight I've ever dropped. It's genuinely changed things for me.

Welcome to the group!

Hey! That's great to hear. I'm really optimistic about this stuff, and it appears to be doing the job so far. I'm eager to find out how hiking or biking feels with (fingers crossed) 30+ fewer pounds on me.

What dose are you on at this point?

Currently my dose sits at 2.5mg. The schedule went like this: 1mg for a 2-week stretch, then 1.5 for 4 weeks, 2mg across 9 weeks, and 2.5 just this past week.

Light running is something I've been working back toward. Back when I was around 245lb, it felt awful and was ridiculously hard to manage. These days I'm easing it back in bit by bit, and the difference is noticeable - it's going much smoother.

My strategy is to stay at the smallest dose that still does the job, and so far that's working out. I recently brought Tesa into the mix and suspect it's behind some bloating, though I'm hoping those couple of pounds will be gone by the time this week wraps up.

Hey, I'm from Alberta too and I came across reta! I started at 400 lbs, dropped to 250 by changing what I ate and working out, then hit a plateau. After giving reta a try, I've lost 16 lbs in roughly a month!

Greetings from Vancouver! I'm also into snowboarding and mountain biking. Alberta, please stick with us lol! The west counts on you to hold the crazies back. Haha! I'm 37 y/o and really happy I came across this forum -- you're going to love it.

A western alliance sounds good to me hahah. Losing BC mountain biking isn't an option. The free ride you've got, plus how near it is, makes me jealous. Each year I head out for a North Shore / Squamish trip.

That's wild! Nice job dropping the weight.
