A few weeks of lurking here, and taking the plunge to be part of this community finally happened. Plenty has been learnt already, but there's sure to be so much more to discover.

I (30'sF) spent most of my life being judged as "too skinny" and worked hard at putting weight on. Nothing worked - even weight training topped out at an extra 10 lbs before I lost access to it. Welp, nature overcorrected that problem in a big way once kids came along. In the span of 4 years I went from 105 to 230. A pear shape carries it well aesthetically, but that weight brought a slew of health struggles with it. How uncomfortable and heavy my existence is makes me so miserable. Gravity seems to pull at me every second of the day, and the pull gets stronger the higher up I go (up stairs). My knees are in tatters. I could go on but I'm not trying to vent.

Fitness is usually where I'm most comfortable. Getting into the routine of being active doesn't take me long. Significant chunks of weight have come off over these last few years through exercise alone and occasional calorie counting. The problem is that after this last baby I'm in a place where exercise isn't possible at all. Not with my knees struggling this much, and especially not with this little feral one needing me 24/7. And right when progress is really happening, life throws a big change my way, I get thrown off kilter, and the weight comes back.

My 5th dose of tirz went in today. Thorough calorie counting and tirz are the chance I'm taking, to get to a place where being active is possible again. The first month has seen 6 lbs come off, with a few migraines the only negative side effect. What food noise actually was, I didn't understand until tirz silenced it. My mind is blown. Food issues have only really been a thing for the last year, but as an ex smoker I suddenly realized that's what "food noise" felt like for me. The constant gnawing urge to physically inhale/consume something. An addiction. And the struggle against it is over.

Anyway, that's where I'm at right now. Pretty excited about the journey ahead, and I love reading all your stories too. Spaces like these, where people help each other build a healthier life, are a good thing. Getting to know you guys - and growing (and shrinking) together - is something I look forward to!
