Hey folks, it's truly motivating to witness all of you taking charge and working on bettering your wellbeing.

Blessings to each of you.

Ah, apologies—I'm revising my message because I skipped over the guidelines for new members.

Weight has been a battle for me since I was 16, and I believe visceral fat (plus my sugar/carb cravings) is the main issue. Up until 16, I could consume unlimited quantities of anything without gaining a pound.

I've never touched GLP1s, but I'm here to gain knowledge, and my aim is to reach a specific weight where I can maintain it through improved eating habits and consistent workouts. I intend to establish a cap for that. Probably 30 lbs to lose, though I'll keep checking in with how I feel along the way.

In the past, I experimented with every possible approach to manage my Chronic Fatigue Syndrome diagnosis and ballooned to 300lbs. Currently I'm at 160lb thanks to keto (started with carnivore, but anything under 30g carbs daily doesn't suit me), CICO, and exercise—yet the final stretch of weight loss is really tough.

I align with Dr Sean O Mara's perspective on health, but sadly his protocols just caused inflammation for me. Once I drop 10-20 lbs, I'll attempt to emulate his lifestyle, focusing more on probiotic-rich foods and minimal to no carbs, etc.

Welcome. Yeah, the rules seem like a solid method to stop bots from overrunning the forum. Keto brought on non alcoholic fatty liver disease for me. Not too serious, but I've come across some peptides that can strip fat from the liver, so I'm eager to find out how it changes my labs. Best of luck.

I dropped 90 lbs by going keto/carnivore too. Regaining muscle after that harsh a cut took ages, and at this point I want to do another cut. Getting the same quality product without paying premium prices would be amazing for me.

So keto is what caused NAFLD for you?? For me, it was the single thing that genuinely improved my liver markers.

From what my doctor told me, that is the most probable cause. I can't say with 100% certainty that it was. My keto meals were heavy on fat, not just lean meat though. What about you — were fatty foods in the picture?

I did include fatty cuts of meat, fish, and dairy in what I ate, though I steered clear of things like butter coffee or "fat bombs." The bulk of my meals was sale-priced meat, salad, avocado, and green vegetables. Honestly, calling it ketosis fits better, since my protein intake ran higher than what standard keto calls for.

Even so, I shed over 60 lbs after really struggling with ordinary calorie cutting. My guess is that severe insulin resistance was behind that. Once the weight came off, every lab value looked excellent.

Since covid I've cycled between gaining and losing, but ever since I removed most sugars, my liver markers and A1C have stayed solidly in the "normal" window.

Yea I dropped a lot of weight and was really happy with it, but then I got this pain in my upper left chest, so I saw a doctor. They ran labs and an ekg and such, and the only abnormal finding was fatty liver. Nothing else in my diet or routine had changed during that period. That’s why she reached that conclusion. Still, for me keto is the simplest diet to maintain over long stretches.
