I’m completely fresh to this whole GLP1 path. I’m in my late 20s, closing in on 360lbs, and while I’ve been making adjustments, they haven’t been enough to get the results I’m after. My weight appears to have stalled out. To put it mildly, the entire GLP-1 landscape is confusing, and I’m hoping to get some reliable guidance here. My insurance won’t cover almost anything related to weight loss.

Hi there, don't stress about it—folks here will definitely give you guidance. As for me, I'm still part of a clinic-based GLP1 program that includes a doctor and a nutritionist. It wraps up next week, but I'll keep having follow-up appointments with my doctor. The reason is that I began with Grey, since paying for Wegovy/MJ isn't something I can keep up with—I'd been using those for 10 months at the highest dose. There's no insurance coverage either. The money I lost was on Sema: I didn't respond to it and also had a negative reaction. Dropped $3k-$4K with nothing to show for it, whereas Tirz(MJ) worked well for me.

If GLP1s are completely new to you, my recommendation is to try Reta. A smaller amount, say 2mg, could do the trick since you're GLP naive. For someone like me who's been around the block, I had to begin at 4mg and saw only slight movement, so I might need to raise it to 8mg before I notice real results.

Should anything come up (nothing about sources, though), just ask—I'll do my best to answer based on what I know and have been through.

Welcome. My best advice: spend a while lurking on the forum first. Trust me, you're not the first person to arrive in your situation. Odds are every question you have has already been covered here — treat the search button as your friend. And if something still isn't there, go ahead and ask; as long as it doesn't break the board rules, someone will chip in with an answer.

Glad to have you—this forum holds plenty of excellent material. I've caught myself browsing and going through all kinds of subjects and updates. I'm confident you'll do well here!
