My husband and I are both middle aged and carrying extra weight, and we've at last made the decision to try GLPs. Research duties fall to me, and I only came across this forum yesterday, so I joined right away.

With GLPs on our side, my hope is that we can kick off weight loss, improve how we eat, and gain enough energy to begin exercising. Having so little energy for exercise has been the hardest part for us. We're both in our fifties and hoping that losing 80 lbs is within reach.

Hey there! Another Floridian saying hello. Absolutely, you can get there if you stay patient. Look into things thoroughly, give a GLP a shot, and use a guide plus directions so you begin gradually and steadily, then allow it to accumulate. Eventually you'll figure out your own formula.

Make sure you get moving too, taking it slow and simple. The key is just to be present! 🙂 If you can, find a workout group to join.

Also begin logging what you eat. As the pounds begin to drop, your motivation to exercise more will grow.

Before you know it, those goals will be within reach. Best of luck, and have fun along the way.

We're in Florida too — hey 👋🏻. Like you, we're enjoying our fabulous 50s. Tirz is what we're using, and the results have been amazing. What you're aiming for can absolutely be done. It's been 5 months for me, and 3 1/2 months for my husband. The pounds keep coming off — I've lost 30lbs, and he's lost 20lbs.

Don't forget to move your body, stay hydrated with electrolytes, and meet your protein targets. Our approach began with high protein and low carb eating. Once we brought some carbs back in, it helped a great deal — we hit a quick stall when we left them out.

Anyone here pairing CGMs (continuous glucose monitors) with GLP treatment? Mine isn't covered by insurance. Would dropping $150 each month actually be worth it??

Spent several years in Florida, and I'll be heading back before long! Be sure to keep your hydration and electrolytes in check. Dehydration is the worst thing that can happen to your GLP journey. It's simple to end up that way under the Florida sun!
