Hi, I'm in my mid 30s, pre-diabetic at the moment, about 200 pounds, 5"10. My job keeps me moving a lot (12-15k+ steps daily), yet eating right is a challenge.

Getting real pharmaceutical-grade product in Europe is hard...

So I'm asking whether there would be any problem if I just put 1% BA into sterile water.

What I mean is using a syringe to draw 1 ml and mixing that into 100 ml of sterile water.

The most basic approach there is.

And would there be any issue with 99.9% BA (Benzyl Alcohol) that's sold as cosmetic grade?

As someone without experience, I can't tell if it makes a difference, since it's only pure alcohol.

Hello from Europe as well. The maths checks out, though sterility-wise I wouldn't risk it — better to just buy BAC.

I'm worried about mixing benzyl alcohol into water.

When I gave it a try, the outcome didn't satisfy me—the water didn't come out completely clear, and it seemed like the alcohol hadn't dissolved all the way.

Hello, and glad to have you here!

Since BAC raised the same kinds of doubts for me, my recommendation is to run a forum search (leave 'Search titles only' unchecked, then enter BAC water, BAC water Europe, or similar terms).

You'll come across plenty of material, and I'm sure a great deal of it will prove helpful — ranging from what others have gone through to DIY approaches and more.

Best of luck.

Hi, glad to have you here.

From what I know, BAC water from European brands is available in different places. Hospira isn't the only option—what matters is that the product comes with proper testing, like Lambda.
