Hello all,
I’ve just arrived, and it makes me glad to have come across this forum. My age is in the early 70s, and my main focus has been on bettering my overall health by way of improved nutrition, fitness, healthy aging, and weight management that can be sustained. Over the past several years, the science behind metabolism, keeping muscle, appetite regulation, and longevity has become something I follow with great interest.
The reason I signed up is that I want to gain more knowledge about GLP-1 medications and peptides in general, particularly from those who have lived experience. My curiosity isn’t limited to GLP-1s for weight loss and metabolic health; I also want to understand the wider peptide field, which includes GLP-2, the emerging retatrutide (since "GLP-3" does not exist) therapies, and other peptide research tied to inflammation, gut health, energy balance, recovery, and healthy aging.
A good deal of my reading has covered preserving muscle during weight loss, protein intake for older adults, managing side effects, and the way lifestyle habits interact with these medications and therapies. What I’m most eager to hear is how other people pursue long-term success in a manner that is both healthy and balanced.
This group comes across as very knowledgeable and supportive, and I’m excited to learn, to ask considered questions, and hopefully to add something along the way.
Thank you for welcoming me!
