Hey all — it's Josh, writing from the UK 🇬🇧

Finding this place has genuinely made my day. After going through a load of the threads, I'm honestly stunned by what's available these days. Between the variety of meds and how much say people now get over their own wellbeing, it really does feel like we've skipped ahead into the future.

And yet it's wild how many folks out there still haven't got a clue any of this exists.

My Story

August 2025 is when it all began for me, at 107kg.

As of today, I'm at 75kg.

Truth is, though, dropping the weight is only part of it.

Things completely unravelled for me last year. After me and my partner went our separate ways, I wound up sleeping in my van — it was the only way I could keep my head above water and still see my son, who's 3.

What began as just getting by slid into a seriously dark stretch.

Most days I was on the drink, 5–10 beers daily, and more at weekends, on top of wine and rubbish food. Drugs found their way in as well. On the outside I was coping, holding down work, showing up for my son… but inside my head, things were grim.

The Turning Point

Eventually it hit me that something had to give.

Weight had always been a battle for me. Shame was always there. Body dysmorphia too. And, same as plenty of others, I leaned on alcohol and food to get away from it all.

A podcast line I came across really lodged itself in my head:

“If you take the rum out of a fruitcake, you’re still left with a fruitcake.”

That one landed hard.

It woke me up to the fact that stripping away the coping mechanisms isn't enough… the stuff underneath has to be faced.

Where Mounjaro Comes In

For me, Mounjaro was a total game-changer.

Not only for the weight coming off, but because it handed me room to breathe.

Room to get my thinking straight.

Room to break out of the loop.

Room to genuinely put the work in on myself.

From there came fixing my diet, starting at the gym, and above all, taking back control of my life.

Now

I'm still in the van… except these days it's a choice, not a necessity.

Van life, early morning coffees up on a hill, freedom, clarity, and I'm sober.

My life has gone from basically rock bottom… to one I actually love living.

Why I’m Here

I want to keep pushing forward on this journey and pick up more — particularly about RT and what everyone else is up to.

So glad to have landed here. It takes me back to the old-school internet forums, where people genuinely swapped real experiences.

If you know, you know.

Hello mate, another UK bod here. Looks like you've made proper progress already!
Thanks buddy! Those before-and-after shots really are wild, right? I honestly didn't expect to be shocked by my own either! I still reckon there's more work ahead, and I'm fully aware that I'll need some form of GLP medication indefinitely, since I've been dealt the obesity hormone card — or rather, the shortage of it! Whatever it takes to mute that mental craving for everything enjoyable (and bad for me!) 😅
