Hi everyone, I'm 30 and new here. Been reading posts for a couple weeks before finally deciding to post something myself.

Basically, been struggling with weight since my mid 20s, desk job stress eating the whole thing. Tried calorie counting, cutting carbs, gym phases that never lasted more than a couple months. I can lose some weight, but it always comes back eventually. Just trying to learn more and explore my options at this point, semaglutide, tirzepatide, all of it. Still not real clear on how ppl chooses between them or what the first few months actually feel like day to day.

Would love to hear what you wish you knew before starting, if insurance was a big factor for you, and honestly just what to expect early on. Also, curious if anyone here started around my age since alot of posts seem to be from people older than me.

Thanks for reading! This forum already helped me just from lurking around a bit.

I am 35! Not severely overweight, but I hit 29% BMI and realized I needed to make some changes. I broke my ankle 5 years ago - before that I was super healthy, a runner and weightlifter, but I've had a really hard recovery and can't run anymore or really work out the way I want.

I've been taking reta for a month now, I've lost about 5kgs which is great as I amp everything up. Interestingly the food noise disappeared then recently came back, I think due to stress. I've also been doing more mat pilates and trying to lift (light) weights every day to not lose muscle as I lose weight.

Good luck!

It’s been going really well

its been going well, I donated my kidney a few years back and gained a ton of weight and developed some autoimmune conditions, it was hormonal weight I tried everything to get it off. It was so stubborn and slow moving, and always came right back. I started calorie counting, intermittent fasting, taking supplements and I did lose 30 pounds, but when I tell you it was seriously hard 😣 I ordered Reta 2 single vials and one vial of triz along with ghkcu… I started with trizepitide after reading about how it works instantly with food noise and so much of what I read about Reta was so mixed but majority said it takes several weeks to start seeing results and you know we live in the age of instant gratification so I wanted to jump start my weight loss by starting with a month of triz lol I absolutely fell in love with it I ordered two years worth of trizepitide after week 3 never even tried the Reta 😂 I was down 10 pounds week 4 but I feel so good my body feels so much less inflamed I’m not hungry and definitely no desire for junk food.

Im 24 started this year but I hopped on reta first though, already lost over 40 pounds though. so it definitely works you honestly just gotta start somewhere and do plenty of self research

Welcome! Well, I'm 32, I started on reta on May, 9 and it has helped me tremendously with over eating, and also loosing weight. I've lost around 20 pounds so far, started at .5mg and did that for 2 months, and after jump to 3mg and now 4mg, I'll probably stay on this dosage for months until my body tells me otherwise. Sema 1st gen, tirz 2nd Gen, Reta 3rd Gen, from my understanding. I would recommend Reta because that's the only one I have try and it has help me by a lot. I don't have insurance, so here I am 😂. Like some, I had a light fever the first couple of days and a little bit of fatigue. I drank Gatorade and that help with the fatigue and the light fever was gone by the end of week, have not had the fever since. I started at .5mg so Ive not had any of the side effects that other say they gotten, like nauseous, diarrhea, or constipation. I think that's from higher dosage. I am keeping up with eating healthy and going to the gym, so I do recommend that too.

Good luck!!

Welcome!

There’s so much valuable info on this site but I know it can also be very overwhelming.

From my own personal experience, I had to pull the trigger and start somewhere. For me it was on Sema because when I started my insurance covered it. When that stopped I couldn’t afford the out-of-pocket cost so I looked at compound. I stayed on compound Sema as the side effects weren’t awful but I definitely had symptoms. The best way I could describe it was nausea if I didn’t stay hydrated and stomach pain/cramp almost like an upset stomach about 12-24 hours before my shot was due.

Someone close to me was on Sema and switched to Tirz in peptide form. I followed suite a few months later as this individual and I shared similar Sema experiences and I was told Tirz eliminated a lot of that. In my own personal experience with it, I have virtually no issues with Tirz. I have begun my research on Reta. For me, I will likely wait until Reta has its FDA stamp before I seek it further but I figure I would start my research now.

Everything so far has been great with Tirz and I made my own direct purchase for the first time this month. Up next will be learning about the other types of peptides.
