Hi

I’ve spent roughly a year on glp1, tirzepatide specifically, though I missed several months because of money. This whole experience has been incredible, something I honestly never imagined could happen. The night of my very first shot, I had no desire at all for the sugary drink I normally reach for. I figured it was just excitement. After a full week, though, you realize no placebo effect works that well! I’m in Vegas, and I’ve managed to drop a bit more than 100lbs, going from 480 at the start to 365 now! I’d love to make the switch to R for the T… I need guidance on whatever anyone has personally discovered to be the most efficacious path to their success. I’m looking forward to the community effect and to having more support in my corner! Please lmk anything you know, that I should know! Much love to u all!

Great job on the weight loss. That's fantastic! To make everything succeed, your head has to be in the right place. I just began Reta and so far the results have been good. I'm aiming to lose nearly 100 myself once more. My hope is that once I reach that point, a maintenance dose will be all I need. Best of luck!

I'd like to lay out what Retatrutide has been like for me up to this point (roughly 2 months). No exaggeration — just the real sequence of events.

Where I started

My initial approach was a 2x per week split:

  • 0.5 mg on Monday
  • 0.5 mg on Thursday
  • Combined: 1.0 mg/week

The opening weeks:

  • appetite was firmly suppressed
  • the effect held steady
  • heart rate crept up a bit, though I could tolerate it

---

Experiment: Microdosing (0.25 mg)

I gave smaller divided doses a shot (0.25 mg).

What happened:

  • the effect was noticeably weaker
  • hunger came back sooner
  • everything felt too “flat”

→ Low doses simply don't do it for me.

---

Return to 0.5 mg

  • the effect returned
  • yet it wasn't as steady as it had been early on

What I noticed:

- occasionally hunger showed up by the following morning

→ which tells me 0.5 mg is starting to sit at the edge

---

Bump to 0.75 mg (~17 units)

  • appetite suppression got much more pronounced
  • hunger stayed well in check

Side effects:

  • resting HR ~90 bpm
  • ~110 bpm after meals
  • also elevated while sleeping

→ plainly too much for me

---

Main takeaway

The effect hangs around longer than I anticipated.

There was a stretch where:

  • my next dose was already due
  • yet the effect was still strong and my heart rate still up

→ points to overlap / a cumulative pattern

---

What I concluded after ~2 months

  • <0.5 mg per shot does nothing for me
  • 0.5 mg works, but not stable enough anymore
  • 0.75 mg works very well, but side effects (HR) are limiting
  • it’s not just about dose, but dose + timing

Where my sweet spot probably sits:

→ ~0.6–0.65 mg per shot or longer intervals

---

What I'm weighing now

- fine-tune dosing

or

- switch to Tirzepatide for better balance (less HR issues)

---

Not advice, just my personal experience.

Incredible! I get why you'd stay at a low dose—it didn't do anything for me either. I ended up needing to increase it too.

Over this stretch, did any weight come off?

Nice work on what you've achieved up to now, and best of luck as you change things up — make sure you let us know how it goes.

“reta to make me betta” — that line is absolutely going into my everyday vocabulary. what a killer quote, man! LOL😂

and honestly, i’m really proud of how far you’ve already come and that you’re still pushing forward!!

wishing you nothing but the best, plenty of muscle gains, and a whole lot of fat loss!!

The GLP won't make you drop pounds; I use it to keep hunger in check 🙂

Great job on what you've achieved so far. Let us know how things go once you make the change!

Thanks, I looked at the studies and for heart rate it's better to switch to Sema

I'm hoping someone can fill me in on how to do a proper tirz-to-reta transition....right now I'm at 10mg of tirz, and I've hit a plateau at 43 lbs. The stuff I keep seeing about how reta compares to tirz really appeals to me, and I want to find out what the right protocol is for making a clean switch while keeping side effects as low as possible!

I'm also curious about this!!

Dropping 100 lbs is genuinely a huge win. Wishing you the best as you continue!

I have been hearing mixed things about whether stacking the two is really dangerous, but then I also hear about reducing tirz and slowly adding a bit of reta while tapering off tir over time. Some folks seem to swap out 1 week of tirz for a micro dose of reta. Really hoping to find some reliable info1

For those making the switch to Reta, a higher HR appears to be a common worry. I haven't looked at any of the trial data myself — is that generally what's being seen in the clinical trials right now?

Welcome in — and honestly, 100 lbs gone is huge. That kind of change reshapes everything.

The way you put it, with that initial shot and the hunger just flipping off — plenty of folks hit that same point and think “okay, this is not like anything else.”

Tirz has clearly done right by you, and landing results like that means you're starting from a solid place as you move ahead.

On the Reta switch — reports go both ways:

  • a portion of users say it adds somewhat more fat loss/energy
  • a portion say tirz wins out for appetite control
Given that craving control has been your standout win, hold onto that thought. Staying with something that's plainly delivering is a perfectly good call, particularly while you keep grinding forward.

Seeking out a community and support like this is the right move — over the long haul it counts for more than most realize.

Genuinely impressive what you've managed so far. Good to have you here — don't stop 💪

In the studies, up to 10 BPM is typical. Personally, I get 15 BPM. It comes down to the Glucagon receptor. My sympathetic response is really sensitive. Usually it settles after weeks, but for me there was no chance of that.
