Hello everyone!

I began on a compounded tirz last October. It made me a little nervous, since my a1c was already good and sitting at the low end of the range (4.3). I get reactive hypoglycemia episodes, and I'd read that some people improve on a GLP.

Then in April of last year I fell and broke my foot, and spent months in a cast. Being sedentary, over 50 and perimenopausal did me no favours. My diet was good for the most part — mostly protein and veggies, since I'm gluten and HFCS intolerant — but the food noise was loud and I felt constantly inflamed.

I began at around 200 pounds (I'm 5 ft 5) and was into the 150s by May. The swelling and inflammation cleared up, but I was tired. My PCP tested me for H Pylori even though I had no symptoms. To my surprise it came back positive, and I had a few awful weeks of antibiotics. They hit me BIG TIME. The inflammation came back, and even as I kept losing weight all my clothes felt tight. I'd stopped the tirz, but I've recently restarted it at a lower dose.

Metabolic dysfunction runs through my own history too, with postprandial hypoglycemia (reactive hypoglycemia) as part of it. Never an issue with Tirz.

By this stage your gut microbiome is thoroughly out of balance. My view is that you should look into ways of repairing it. A poor microbiome can drive systemic inflammation higher.

Akker, Lacto and Bifido — those three matter a great deal for metabolic health. Once the balance in the gut shifts, all sorts of problems follow. Leaky gut syndrome is one candidate; it can raise systemic inflammation and has a striking connection to worsening food intolerance.
