Hi

44F, writing from the USA.

Over roughly the last 10 years, my weight has crept up by 10-12 lbs each year. The pattern: I'd put on 0-1 lbs per period and it never came off.

A friend of mine had dropped 80lbs within a year, so I reached out and asked her straight up whether she was using a glp (I figured she'd be honest if I just asked). She confirmed it and walked me through compounding. My plan was to get it covered by insurance, but that doesn't happen when your only issue is being fat. At the time I was pre diabetic, and I remember thinking fine, NEXT BLOOD TEST WILL SHOW DIABETES and then HELLO GLPS THAT INSURANCE WILL PAY FOR. So I put on even more weight, and I even drank a bit of coffee before the blood draw. Turns out I wasn't even pre diabetic anymore.

So I ended up going the compounder route, but I can't resist a good deal - which is how I landed here.

Starting point: 290, female, 5'10". I was still cramming myself into XLs and size 16s. Tirz has taken 35 lbs off me across close to 6mo, going from 2.5 up to 7.5. This past month though I've stalled - not a single pound lost.

I'm currently taking prednisone for a contact dermatitis, so I'm hoping that plays a role. Rather than titrating tirz from 7.5 to 10, I stacked 2.5 Reta on top of my 7.5 tirz. Honestly I want to move over to Reta.

I've also begun glow, and I'm thinking about switching to Klow. Epithalon has my curiosity too.

My mom is in her 80s. She spent around 1.5 years on ozempic and it made her extremely nauseous, so she moved to tirz. She takes glow as well and insists it eases her foot pain! On tirz she's no longer spending 2 days a week feeling sick the way ozempic did, and her weight is trending down again.

And yes, cats are part of my life. I also teach group fitness. Simply from the 35lbs coming off, my blood pressure is out of that range where - you're probably going to need medication for this - used to apply. It sat in the 140s/80-90 constantly. These days I read 120-something/74.

Teaching group fitness is easier too - breathing and talking while I demo no longer wind me 🫣

200lbs would suit me fine, but 186 was my high school weight. At my last dexa scan my lean mass came in around 146lbs, so 186 would put me near 21% body fat.

Anxiety used to give me panic attacks, and those have completely gone away. I don't feel on edge anymore. I'm also an ADHD person (my oversharing in this post probably gives that away). I believe the tirz has helped with that too - it just calms me down somewhat.

One side effect I do get: occasional heat in my joints. Reta worries me because my HRV is already crappy and I figure a higher resting heart rate would only make that worse?? Not sure though

Glad you're here! I've got a cat too... adore my GATO!

Hey there, purely out of curiosity — are you keeping an eye on your macros? I'm on a low dose of tirz, and honestly it lets me be kind of a lazy dieter, if that makes sense... Before, I was putting away 3k plus calories daily, and these days I'm closer to 2k. From what I understand, women often need to drop down around 1200-1500, so I was wondering whether that might be the reason for the stall. Getting older makes it rough on all of us, so it really comes down to the small details now. Personally, I've been parked at 205 after coming down from 260, and I already know my problem is eating too much at night, so for me it's back to focusing on the diet rather than the shot.

Finished! I haven't worked out yet how to make a post on this forum. My guess is that it's some kind of "new member" limitation? If anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd be grateful, and thanks to everyone!

Yes, MyFitnessPal is what I use for logging what I eat... Because I'm nearer to my target weight, I've configured it for a 1/2 lb weekly deficit (2200 calories)... My job keeps me moving, so I earn some "calories back," though I make an effort not to consume all of them... There are days when I check what's left and think "no way...." Best of luck!

Awesome! I'm in the same boat—spent ages quietly digging into the "Rabbit Hole" on peps.. This community is fantastic, and it feels like surfacing on the far side with know-how! Really thankful to be part of this... Take care! (oh, and here's one more Cat pic for everyone!....)

Hi there! Great to see another cat lover join. woohoo. As for my doctor… well, he got the boot after 3 years of gaslighting and lies. That's when I went the compound route. After that I came across something about a stairway and ended up on this forum. Lol. My first order hasn't shown up yet. I'm 45, in peri, and a member of the “we do not care” club. Lol

Welcome aboard and congrats, my Friend! HAHA... if your doctor isn't working out, the best move is to let them go.. (America, right....). I just started seeing a new GP and I'm thrilled. Younger, current on modern medical knowledge, and happy to collaborate with me (He even read the medical studies I handed him.. actually READ them! which doctor does that??). Congrats on signing up and congrats on your first purchase... after this, you will literally never go back...

Yep, he's gone. Anything that didn't come from his own brain, he wouldn't even look at. A few months back I let him go. Young guy. In 7 years, he was the 3rd doctor I've shown the door.

A different young doctor came along, and she strikes me as really quite awesome. I haven't had an appointment with her yet, but the new bloodwork and all the other stuff I currently need are already in hand. When the time comes that I do need her, I'm set to give her a call. Fingers crossed she lives up to her own billing!

A number of peptides are genuinely impressive. For your contact dermatitis, a few of them may be worth trying, which could spare you from lifelong prednisone use. From what I understand, steroids taken over the long term can take a serious toll on the body.

For contact dermatitis, a stack of KPV, BPC157, and GHK – CU might work well.

My husband just started KPV since he deals with systemic chronic inflammation. Soon, though, I plan to move him to VIP, as that is believed to target inflammation more effectively along with certain nerve problems he has.

AI is something I quite like, so here is what Grok lists as suggested peptides for contact dermatitis:

1. KPV (Lys-Pro-Val) – Strongest candidate

• Potent anti-inflammatory tripeptide.

• Inhibits NF-κB and reduces pro-inflammatory cytokines (TNF-α, IL-6, etc.) that drive contact dermatitis.

• Users and some clinicians report good results with inflammatory skin conditions (eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis).

• Often used orally, subQ, or even topically (mixed in a cream).

2. BPC-157 – Very good supportive option

• Excellent systemic and local anti-inflammatory effects.

• Promotes tissue healing and modulates the immune response.

• Many people with chronic skin inflammation (including contact dermatitis) use it because it helps repair the skin barrier and reduces flare-ups.

3. GHK-Cu – Excellent for skin-specific healing

• Copper peptide that reduces inflammation, promotes collagen, improves skin barrier function, and has antioxidant effects.

• Can be used topically (mixed into a cream or serum) or injected. Many people with dermatitis report faster healing and less redness/itching.

Thymosin Alpha-1 is another peptide that might be considered – it modulates immunity (relevant if the dermatitis has an autoimmune element).

A bunch of peptides are genuinely worth looking into. For your contact dermatitis, certain ones may let you stop relying on prednisone for life. From what I gather, being on steroids for a long stretch can really mess up your system.

A stack of KPV, BP 157, and GHK – CU might work well against the contact dermatitis.

My husband just started KPV since he deals with systemic chronic inflammation. Soon, though, I plan to move him to VIP, as it's believed to target inflammation more effectively.

I'm really into AI, and here's what Grok has to say:

1. KPV (Lys-Pro-Val) – Strongest candidate

• A powerful anti-inflammatory tripeptide.

• Blocks NF-κB and lowers pro-inflammatory cytokines (TNF-α, IL-6, etc.) that fuel contact dermatitis.

• According to users and some clinicians, it works well for inflammatory skin issues (eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis).

• Frequently taken orally, subQ, or even applied topically (blended into a cream).

2. BPC-157 – Very good supportive option

• Great anti-inflammatory action both systemically and locally.

• Aids tissue repair and helps regulate the immune response.

• Lots of people dealing with chronic skin inflammation (contact dermatitis included) turn to it, since it supports skin barrier repair and cuts down on flare-ups.

3. GHK-Cu – Excellent for skin-specific healing

• A copper peptide that lowers inflammation, boosts collagen, enhances skin barrier function, and delivers antioxidant benefits.

• Can go on topically (stirred into a cream or serum) or be injected. Many with dermatitis say healing speeds up and redness/itching drops.
