To whoever is reading this,
French male here, dealing with severe metabolic syndrome and a BMI north of 35 (178cm, roughly 114kg — call it 5ft10in and ~252lbs) ;
On top of that: an enlarged, fatty liver (MASLD), a HOMA-IR score that stayed stubbornly high (7.5-8.5) for years, raised ALT and AST (50+ and 30+ U/L), triglycerides up and HDL down. Diet changes and everything else I tried did not move the needle.
From late primary school until right now (I am a Uni freshman) I have never been at a normal weight — overweight first, then obese.
What really hit me was learning my height could have landed around 184cm (=6ft, possibly a touch more). It did not, and my weight is the reason.
My doctor is pushing Wegovy (semaglutide), but pharmacy pricing here is brutal, so I am poking around ; I have actually been reading GLP-1ra forums for longer than that. Worth saying: this year I am the French equivalent of a pre-med student, so I have picked up how this all works and can follow the literature.
I am the sort who tries to improve his life and make smart calls, and I own a lot of supplements (mostly aimed at nootropic effects).
Eager to get started on R, following the “9” protocol from Eli Lilly's TRIUMPH-4 Trial.
