Hey everyone,

I'm a guy in his mid 40s living in the lovely mountains of East Tennessee. My insurance removed Zepbound from the formulary back in January of this year, and I had been taking it by prescription (for diabetes and weight loss). This past month I finally took the plunge into the compounded version, after putting back on 30lbs over the course of this year, and started researching where it actually comes from, which led me to this place. The whole thing still makes me a bit uneasy, but with my science background I thought that if I could pick things up from a group of people with similar interests, I might be willing to try it. Those prices are just ridiculous…

So anyway, I'm excited to talk with you all and hopefully gain the knowledge I need to keep going on my journey in a safe and well-informed way.

Best regards 🙂

Welcome!

There’s no reason to feel anxious. Whatever route you choose through what’s available here costs far less than Zepbound. If you tell us a bit more about yourself — your height, your weight, any health conditions, how long you were on Zepbound, and the dose you stopped at — plenty of seasoned members here will offer useful guidance. Go through the rules carefully first, and read through as many threads as you can. You might not be able to ask about everything just yet, but most of your questions have already been answered somewhere in those threads. Before posting a question, try the search option.

During roughly 8 months, I dropped 90lbs prior to losing access to it. Right now I stand 6’ and weigh 295, having been prescribed 12.5mg of Terz. Seems like this place holds plenty of useful information. As you mentioned, with any luck I’ll be able to look into things myself rather than posting the same old or foolish inquiries.

If Tirz has been working well in your case, there's no reason to switch away from it. That said, since you've been off it for a while now, you should restart at the beginning dose of 2.5mg. You already know how this medication affects you, so you'll be able to tell whether titrating up is necessary. Only titrate if it's genuinely needed — not for the sake of dropping weight as fast as possible. Personally, I've used Tirz alone at 5mg/week across 39 weeks and dropped 29kg. My SW was 102kg, though. The only things you really need to watch with Tirz are getting enough proteins every day and training. If you don't, you'll definitely deal with muscle weight loss. Before anything else, learn about every option out there — Reta, Eloralintide, Cagri... — and figure out whether you could stack it with them or swap it for one of them, should the need arise.

Yeah, once I realized they were pulling it, I stretched my auto injections to every 2 weeks at 12.5 through April of this year, which kept my weight steady but I didn't drop anything. Right now I'm on 2.2 of compound for 230 bucks lol, and today marks week 2. Hopefully I can gather what I need before it runs out and look into another path for my journey
