Hello Folks -

My goal is to figure out how peptides can fit into the work I’m doing on body composition. I doubt I’m the only one in this situation, yet I also don’t match the typical profile for GLP-1 medications aimed at weight loss. Even so, I’d like to alter roughly 10% of my body’s composition. This might be more detail than anyone needs or wants, but I’m roughly 20 pounds from my “goal weight” (though my body comp matters more to me than actual weight). For the past couple of years, I’ve concentrated on cutting carbs, resistance work, and keeping water intake up. Now I’m also prioritizing protein, and I hope certain peptides could target the body fat I still have and what I view as other health benefits that peptides might offer. I’m a strong advocate for learning from others and have used forums for years. This forum has made a very good first impression on me. I know running/moderating a forum requires a lot of effort, so I appreciate both the people who donate their time and the members who share their knowledge.

Inflammation is another thing Glp-1s are great for. Great benefits can be had without being way overweight. Welcome! Hope what you're looking for is what you find.

Thanks for the kind words. I realize I'm not some rare exception, yet from what I've read, I don't appear to fit the usual group those prescribed GLP-1's are meant for. Because of that, the standard support channels don't line up with what I'm after. Learning alongside people who share my outlook suits me well—honestly, I'd choose that over the "annointed" gatekeepers of medical/wellness guidance. Still, with health, the risks are significant. My aim, then, is to connect with members here who are "hacking" their own wellness plans and whose health situation resembles mine, so they might steer me. To that end, I'll share more about myself, hoping it draws a mentor or two.......

Come October, I'll hit 60. As a kid and young teen, I was significantly overweight, though I played several sports. From 30 to 50, I tried to compensate in the gym for poor eating. That likely left me with roughly 40ish pounds of extra fat. My numbers stayed inside "reasonable" health ranges, but they were far from ideal. A single cardiac stent was placed 14 years ago, and that event launched my health overhaul. For 10 of those 14 years, I kept pushing harder in the gym while making no meaningful dietary changes. When I was about 55, I found low carb and fasting. Fasting filled the gap in my toolkit. I came to accept hunger. For the first time, I dealt with hunger routinely and chose to treat it as an ally, not an enemy. Now I'm in the best condition of my life—yet I want more. I think I'm positioned well to gain from the right pep stack. The cautions I've seen about long-term peptide success center on: altering your food relationship, staying hydrated, and including resistance training. All three already sit in my toolkit. So it appears many "essentials for success" are already covered. Ideally, this post leads a few members to reach out—whether in this thread or by DM—and share what they know given a similar fact pattern. Here's my current picture:

60 yo

Male

6' 1"

215 lbs

27% body fat

Lean muscle mass: 158 pounds

I'm looking for a modest to minimal peptide stack that could nudge that body fat percentage in a favorable direction. I also get recurring joint discomfort, usually tendon-related, and think some peps may help there.

If there are subgroups/forums I should follow or other resources, I'd greatly appreciate the direction...... until now, it's just been me and my friend Chat GPT trying to sort this out! TIA to the membership
