Hello! ancflyr here, currently in Anchorage AK. Some background: 24F, and weight and food have always been hard for me. Instagram reels were where the gray market first registered (kind of cringe lol), and digging deeper from there led me here. My first vial of Retatrutide has been purchased and the first pin, 0.5mg, happened Sunday — four days ago. Making an account finally, so I can actually engage instead of only lurking.

Since my teenage years the weight has swung a lot, and my office job has lately started taking a physical toll. The office is genuinely difficult for me because snacking happens constantly. Overeating has been a lifelong struggle too. Retatrutide came up in my reading here and sounded like it could help — and OMG! Monday night it was like a switch went off in me. The insatiable need to snack on junk food and candy was simply gone. A small dinner went down, and when full, the rest could go away instead of finishing the plate just because it was in front of me. Whether that was the Reta or maybe a placebo effect, I can't say, but wow!!!

Around 2am last night I woke up with terrible heartburn, and an hour passed before sleep came back. Dinner had been maybe 3 hours before bed, along with one glass of prosecco. Heartburn isn't normal for me, so the Reta and possibly what I ate for dinner seem like the likely cause. It bothered me a bit today as well; some pepto and later some tums seemed to help somewhat, and it's starting to dissipate now.

0.5mg was the starting point since I'm not very overweight (starting BMI was 25.5) and how I'd react side-effect wise was unknown. Opinions seem to vary on staying low and slow versus titrating up as fast as possible. For now the plan is to hold at a low dose, 0.5mg / week for at least one more week, before considering a possible move to 1mg. My first vial cost too much (like probably most people I'm sure), and if a low dose works and this vial stretches further, that's all good with me!

A few questions:

1. If I stick to my plan of keeping my dose low, is there anything I should think through? Would progress slow down, or would titrating up later become harder?

2. Making sure the loss is fat and not muscle matters to me. Lifting isn't part of my routine, but walking, hiking and swimming are. Is that enough? How much exercise should I be aiming for a week while taking the Reta?

3. As the self-injections become more comfortable, stacking with other peptides might interest me. Getting my body to a healthier weight and looking better overall is the goal. Will the Reta alone handle the overall body recomp, or should I be looking into other things? Is stacking multiple peptides from the beginning better, or is a slow introduction fine?

4. Any experience out there with psychiatric conditions and Reta? Bipolar disorder is something I have, managed by medication.

Excited to be on the forum, to learn more, and to share with the community! 😀
