For 20 years my weight has hovered around 225 lbs. The upper limit of what I'd consider ideal for myself is 164. A prescription for Wegovy came my way in March 2025. Over roughly 12 months, I dropped 20 pounds. Then insurance cut me off, and my supply of pens was gone by early March 2026. I turned to a local 503A and spent $350 on 4 pens of 10mg Tirz. It changed everything. Right away I felt 100% better, which in my view comes down to how the drug fights inflammation. Reddit led me to a compounded source online, and I built up about a year's worth via telehealth before finding grey. I wish I'd found out sooner. I plan to stay on it for the long haul. This forum is great, and I'm eager to join in. Happy to be here.

What was wegovy like next to mounjaro for you? Everything I've read pointed people toward mounjaro, yet I can't work out why wegovy keeps pulling in buyers at that kind of price

The difference is like night and day. In 9 weeks I went from 204 down to 180, and what matters more is how much better I feel — that shift came right after the very first injection. As I mentioned before, I believe the anti inflammatory effects of tirzepatide are still only starting to be grasped. This really is a wonder drug, and I don't feel that's an exaggeration.

I've been through the same situation. There are still 2 months left on the telehealth plan I paid for upfront, yet I've already begun building a grey triz supply. The lower cost matters a lot, but what troubles me even more is the possibility that big Pharma and the FDA could cut off our access.

How much is too much—that’s what I’m trying to figure out. Soon I’ll have a year’s worth of grey on top of a year of compounded. I considered getting a kit of 120mg, which would cover me for another two years, but I’m unsure whether that’s just me being overly careful. I also think things could get harder down the road, though I can’t tell if I’m simply reading too much into it.

The issue with choosing 120 is this: after you mix it, how much time will that vial remain usable? Should your dosage be high enough that you finish it before it breaks down, then it could be a good deal. But if it sits around past its prime, you'll just be throwing it away.

From what I gather (though honestly, everyone ought to look into this on their own), the kits typically come as 10-30mg vials, so ordering 120 probably means getting it spread across several vials. In the freezer, the powder ought to stay good for years, and once mixed, a vial kept in the fridge inside a pen should remain usable for 2-3months. Eli Lilly officially states 28days, but because of the self-sealing closures, sterility should hold up longer. Naturally, that all depends on your batch already being sterile to begin with.

My plan is to buy a 1-2 year supply as 10 vials, meaning each vial lasts 2 months after reconstitution.

Alright, my read on what you said was that you were getting a 120 kit—meaning 10 vials, each with 120mg.

About 2 months back I began Reta, and once I saw what a difference it makes, I went ahead and laid in a 20-30 year supply at the maintenance dose — enough for my wife as well as myself. What that stockpile set me back is roughly what I figure 1 or 2 months will cost once it finally wins approval and hits the market. Quitting it is not something I ever want to do. Even though my excess weight never went past 30-40 pounds, food and cravings owned me. There is an incredible kind of freedom in a life that no longer centers on eating.
